... with anchovies?

Being the Ides of March, I thought about caesar salad, which made me think of the time I had it at Buca di Beppo one time. That was when I found out that Caesar salad is supposed to have anchovies in it. That being said, I don't like it w/ anchovies. Makes it too, too salty. And I don't like salty foods.

Psst - Caesar salad dressing all has anchovies in it. If you blend it well, which is what most restaurants do, you dont notice the anchovies.

Mmmmmm, homemade caesar dressing:

In a blender combine:
2 Coddled Eggs (boil for a few minutes until outside begins to soft boil but center is still liquid)
Dash of Worchestershire sauce
Dash of Lemon juice
Parmaesan cheese
1 tin anchovies with olive oil
olive oil
1 clove garlic, smashed

Sorry I do everything by feel and taste, but these are the ingrediets.

The best Caesar salad dressing is Cardini's. It is very hard to find and it's somewhat expensive but worth it.

Lately I have been adding Feta cheese and pre-cut slices of almonds (the size of a small fingernail) from a can.

Plus garlic flavored croutons. Oh, so good.

I use Cardini's . . . named after Caesar Cardini . . . the inventor of the Caesar salad . . .

Anywho . . . it's quite good . . . I pay $3.89 for a 12.5oz bottle at the market . . . lasts me quite a while. Don't know if that is considered expensive or not . . . just about everything is expensive here, I suppose . . . and I've never really picked up other Caesar dressings.
