I don't think we'll ever have a house that we're completely happy with. I think this is the last move though. I don't know how this one is going to be outgrown. It's gonna be 4500sq feet on a 14,000 sq foot lot. Don't even ask about the price :P
Specs
4,595 Sq. Ft.
6 Bedrooms
1 Den
4.5 Bathrooms
4 -car garage

What a tiny little place.
:D
We have a friend who is selling a place in Green Valley Estates...possibly close in size (with hers possibly being larger), but it has a pool and home theater room as well. Then again, her house is in the $1,000,000 plus category.

NICE!!!
how much? j/k :P
do you REALLY need all those rooms? if not, can we claim bedroom #5 as the G|A house? that way, if anyone is down in SD, we can just crash at your "quaint, little hut".

Congrats, nice place. You have a "nook". a "powder room" and a "butlers pantry". That's crazy.

man, that's huge. i'm trying to figure out all the details for building a house too, but mines only 900 square ft. :(
on the plus side, it will ultimatly be the guest house for a much larger house which will all be on a 4 acre wooded lot. :)

that's it, I gotta get a job!

well in the model they converted the bonus room into a stadium seating movie room. I wonder if the wife will let me do that someday. It'll probably be converted into a 6th bedroom.
What I really like about it is the 4 car garage. Lots of storage potential

Well I guess some of the larger homes in our neighborhood are going for about 1.6 million right now. If that's the case this is well below market value for now.

What area of SD are you moving to now?
Enjoy keeping that monster clean! (just kidding, I'm totally jealous!)

just moving down the street really about a 1 mile or so. It's 50% bigger than my current place.
Kim I know... I am thinking about all the mess little ones can do.

just 2 boys right now DF. Planning on a bigger family eventually.
SD house prices have allowed us to make a good amount on real estate. Consolidating some of them.
I like the staircase design, but I do find that the dining room is in a rather odd place compared to where the kitchen is. In any case, it still looks like a very very nice blueprint.
So let me guess, the reason why you can't make it this Saturday is because you have to break out the 8 Dyson vacuums to clean the place up :p

With a house that big and that expensive, I hope you can afford a maid or 10.

get one of those automatic vaccume cleaners, the round ones that run around the house by themselves.

We still have not bought anything yet. We were trying to balance saving for a new home that we actually would want to live in and the wedding. Unfortunately, the wedding was on a deadline and ate most of the money. Thus, we were going to buy something right after the wedding but we still are looking. But for the wedding, we would have had A MUCH larger downpayment which would make this easier.

dude, how do you guys fit 6 bedrooms + den + 4.5 bathrooms on 4500 sq ft? my parents have a house that maybe 5000 sq. ft and only have 5 bedrooms + den + 4 bathrooms and 3.5 car garage.
being a professor must be doing you well.

maybe he sells body parts on the side..
=P
neways... congrats on the house! sounds awesome!
I, on the other hand, just moved into my 1300 sq ft home with a 700 sq ft guest house. And I paid way too much for it.
The worse part of getting a bigger place is that now, you need to buy more stuff to fill it up. It's fun to shop but man, does it get expensive.... hahahaha
Congrats again. =)

We are moving at the end of this month from a 1700 sq. ft. house to a 2200 sq. ft. house. I need to buy a new big screen and sofa for the family room.

The 6th room is currently a Bonus Room

Sure you can ask. :D
We are looking in the $300 - $450k range, which is more likely to end up being a condo or townhome rather than a full size home.
Our minimum requirements are 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, and a garage.

We are looking in the Poway, Rancho Bernardo, Escondido area. Although Scripps Ranch, Rancho Penasquitos and Tierrasanta would be fine too.
My wife works 4 miles from where we are living now and the close proximity is really nice.
Why where can you suggest...although we have preferences, we are open to suggestions.

are those dual islands in the kitchen? islands are great!
brainsmile

what I like is the staircase that splits so we can go directly to the kitchen. ufcrusher check your PM
dual islands and a 6 burner stove.
