Silly Brain - the Irish dont like corned beef and cabbage. Thats an american myth.

More traditional Irish dishes are Boxty, Lamb, fish(salmon) and potatoes. Corned beef and cabbage isn't really that popular, though you will generally see on restaurant menus in Ireland.

As the great Dennis Leary has said, really traditional Irish cooking involves sticking something in a pot for 17 hours to the point where you can suck it through a straw. It's not really food - it's more like penance.
