Come on KGB! Give us some prizes, please. At least last year, there were a bunch of movie sneak previews late in the year.

Saw "The Last Samurai" that way. Then there was a screening fiasco of "Flight of the Phoenix" at AMC La Jolla. The film reels didn't come from L.A. until past 10pm & we were some of the few crazies that stayed late to watch!

Do they really hand out good stuff? I've been to giveaways in front of grocery stores and grand openings sponsored by other radio stations and mostly they give out lame stuff like keychains, stickers, and posters. A few lucky people get a s-shirt, a cap, or dvds.

Well the 10 o'clock word isn't working. Is anyone esle having the same problem?

I was checking the other pages and came across this :

$100 Best Buy Gift Cards because McDonald's and Best buy are bringing back MONOPOLY Best Chance Game 3.0 October 4th through October 31st! Auction is over.
Congrats to rod with a winning bid of 450000

I know he was the original posted winner, but remember they showed later it was another person with a 400,001 bid? What's going on there?

This got me wondering if anyone has gotten screwed out of a prize they won because KGB's computers are all messed up?

How long is it going to take them to fix the problem? I guess it really doesn't matter since prizes are so rare on this program. Just dump all of your points into winning the chopper.

Wow! Do you have to do something? I've been to events where you spin a wheel and you get a prize depending on there the spinner stops.

The process is different depending on the event, the sponsor, the radio station, etc.

For example, Clear Channel station 93.3 had an event Saturday where they just had a raffle box and gave away a $1000 IKEA Gift Card, some $100 scooters, some food coupons, and a kew to a later keyturn where 52 people with keys will all get to try to start the car to win it. I won one of the keys at last Saturday's drawing. The big keyturn event will be in January.

I don't want to mislead you, there are also many radio station remote events where they only give away key rings, etc. You need to read the events list for each station, learn from the radio station's past events that you have been to, etc. For me, I still don't go to many of them that are far away when I feel they will not have good prizes.

One way to learn is to have a couple of partners/friends who also go. If they find something good at one that is close to their home, but one you didn't intend to go to, they can let you know and you can go. That's what I have...a group that works together.

The text is not shown on the screen.

Not sure how these guys will evaluate the answers, but many times with these you don't even have to have the correct answers.

Also note, there is a question as to whether this station will have it's own prize, or if the entries will be combined with those in other cities and only one trip to be given away...other Clear Channel stations around the country are also participating.

Thanks. Is it just a way to sell snowboards and ski stuff? Is it anything fun or special? I don't want to waste my points on junk, since that's usually all this station ever has.

There were some good things on the site. Problem is I don't have time to check the site every few minutes for when they put stuff up. Wish they would put up tons of prizes like the 50 free lunch and submarine tour event.

The lunch wasn't great but it kept me from having to buy lunch and it didn't taste yucky. A whole bunch of midway tickets and drinks would make a good giveaway. Movie tickets are good too. What really sucks is when there is only one of something and you have no chance of getting it.

Well, here we go again. We've had SOOOOO many chances to use our points they are going to take them all away from us again. Hot from the front of the Blue Chip page:

ATTENTION BLUE CHIP MEMBERS:

Once again, we will not be rolling over your points into 2006. All your points must be used by December 31st, 2005. Starting January 1st, 2006 every member will start from scratch with 0 points. We do this in an effort to be as fair as possible to all members; giving everyone an equal chance, at the beginning of the year, to be able to gain the points needed to score great prizes. We would also like to take this time to apologize for the difficulties with the on-air word system. With the end of the year fast approaching and the points rolling back to zero we have taken in consideration the points that you have missed out on and have reduced the amount of points needed to claim certain prizes.

CRUDCRUD! I think 2005 will be my last year for trying to purchase anything. So far, nada. I lost 750K+ last year and got nothing, and it looks like I will get nothing this year either. I have no more time to waste trying to be a loyal listener and getting shafted like this. Hey KGB, you reading all this? Sour, YES! :bash:  :throw:

I'm thinking that is a better place to get the frustration off our chests without revealing this forum and possibly jeopardizing the program... the 'powers that be' might actually see the growing swell of disappointment and take corrective action... and maybe it'll snow in San Diego this winter...

In case you haven't seen it, go to the main page, then 'Contact' (under the Blue Chip logo), then 'message board'. There is a small thread that started a few months ago about the lack of prizes... also, be aware that you'll need to log in to access the board, so they'll know who you are, unless you have a second or third identity to use...

I would not overlook the opportunity to send email to the promotions department with some constructive feedback. Mention the fact that you understand why they feel the need to zero everyone's balance, so you hope they treat all their valued listeners fairly by having many more prizes available over the next 6 weeks so we can use up the points.

I would say that this would be a good venue to vent your frustrations. I'm not too thrilled about throwing away my 400,000 plus points at the end of the year. if they had any class
they'd run some raffles, auctions,
or at least a bunch of prizes

even a bunch of low value prizes
like tacos, hamburgers, donuts,
would satisfy a lot of us
(are you listening kgb?)

what would say 40 thanksgiving turkeys cost?
$200
(at vons)
and earn a lot of good will

i'd even like to bid on turkeys
to be donated to families in need

the "fairness" concept is ludicrous
they have so few prizes
that discrepencies in war chests is moot
the problem is having enough worthwhile prizes to purchase

it doesn't matter if one has 5,000 points or 500,000 points
it's who has the fastest web connection
and who wastes the most time checking in

and when they offer high value prizes
like the cruise
the prize hangs there

Be on the lookout for something they did last year. They had a "Trade In Points" with 100 winners. All 100 were then invited to come down to Convoy Big Screen in San Marcos before Christmas to partake in a fun competition to try and throw a small toy football through the busted out screen of a small TV. The winner got to take home a display model big screen TV.

It was a fun event with guys and gals all competing. The distance was short, but you had to be accurate, so all can play.

I met a few of our thread members there.
