So I'm on-call, get a call at 4:30 a.m. (Saturday morning) from an East Coast user... I'm asking the user some questions to get a better grasp of what may be the cause of his problem... and I get attitude.

Isn't, "Don't bite the hand that feeds you" a saying the world-over?

I feel your pain Dave. What kind of tech support are you doing? Whenever I get paged and I get a small hint of an attitude, I generate some background noise (doorbell, dog barking) and then I comment about being at home. That usually corrects the attitude as they realize that I'm the one who's really being inconvenienced.

Hey, that's not a bad idea. :hihi:

It's just our proprietary software... and corresponding infrastructure... but it's used at locations nationwide... so on occasion, I get the East Coasters calling in the 4 a.m. hour. :P

And it ain't so bad... unless I get the attitude. That just irks me. Especially if I'm not quite awake. Note: The immediate posting (time) of this thread's starter post ;)

Thankfully, I'm not on-call all the time.
