I've tried 3 different computers and different webbrowsers and still no go... maybe it's either time-specific, or user-specific?
Not to be too paranoid, but until it's figured out, it's probably safer that noone inputs the code unless they've heard it themselves...
TimRiley - I agree.
Tanker' - any chance you just happened to sign up, the stream kicked in, and they were saying the word over the air ?

They don't play it when you sign in. They play it some time (times?) during the day. And they don't say when it is that they'll play it.

Here's what happend to me today. I signed in and started listening at 8:45am this morning and then at 9:25am, Tripod and I heard the HAPPY word and then posted the word. I got my 1,000 points. Not sure if it's a daily thing yet, but we will sure find out tomorrow. I believe it will be random and it's a female voice that comes on and tells you the word. If that helps.

From the North County Times:
After a year of forcing listeners to endure cheesy syndicated host John Tesh, soft-rock station KyXy is bringing back some live and local flavor.
The new weekday host for the nightly "Love Songs" show will be Kris Toledo, a female disc jockey who had hosted the show on weekends.
Station program director Charlie Quinn said the "Love Songs" show ---- featuring dedications and requests ---- was one of the first in the country when it debuted about two decades ago.
Since the beginning, it had been hosted by DJ Yvonne Karlin. But the station sacked her for undisclosed reasons before bringing Tesh on board.
These days, it's unusual for radio stations to air live and local programming during nighttime hours. Since the late 1990s, stations have drifted toward canned shows, which are cheaper to produce but rob radio of the one thing it has going for it: an intimate connection with listeners.
It's good to see KyXy buck the trend.

Concerning the "on line listening" code word, does the station have a way to know if you're listening to the on line station or not, since you would have to click on to actually be listening. I believe they have a way to check on everything you enter or click on, is that right?

I've questioned that myself since you have to register to listen online. They might be able to cross reference who signs in to listen and who enters the word to get points.

"Earn 5,000 points by visiting Avis from February 4th – March 3rd. All you have to do is ask for a code card that you can enter below for 5,000 instant points! You must enter your code by 3/3/07."
The other 2....you have to spend $$$ to get either 25,000pts, or 50,000pts.

That may well be, but when I am listening to the station online at a friend's house or another shared computer and I hear the word, does that mean that I am not allowed to enter the code for myself? That would be pretty unfair. Is it code-sharing if you hear it yourself from another person's equipment rather than your own? If so, the same should apply to the radio...if I'm a passenger in the friend's car and KYXY announces the word on someone else's radio, does that imply that the owner of the radio shared the code with me?

dogop-I know you are disillusioned with the clear channel prizes-but REALLY-what has KYXY done for us lately?
You can get 5000 points from Avis-but basically all you have had for a long time is piddly shows like the RAT PACK.
and of course the Auction for about a million points for Disney

I agree that none of the programs are any good any more.
I am boycotting ClearChannel because they control a lot of programs and make you work very hard for very little.
Here and Fox (and even Jack) you don't have to work very hard. Granted you don't get a lot, but how much effort do you put in for the prizes?
ClearChannel makes you listen for codes, do a search, click a link, get the code, go back to the main page, click another link, and enter the code into a new window...all for 500 points....then they charge you 15,000 points for movie passes.
Couch Potato and KYXY let you enter all the codes at 11:00pm if you want. Couch Potato gives you 400 points per day and movie passes run 2000 points, so you can get all that in a week. Jack gives you 1500 points per day (500 pts 3x per day) and their movie passes are 1000 points (so they're very cheap when they have them).
I have had higher expectations of KYXY and have considered quitting the program, but I can enter all the codes for the entire day in less than one minute per day. If they ever get their program improved, I'm ready to go.
ClearChannel rules threatens to cancel accounts if spouses enter codes within an hour of each other, or a dozen other things (mainly because Mary from KYXY went there.) To get all the points you need to get something as simple as movie passes, you have to spend maybe 10 minutes per day for 15 days...a far cry from the other programs.
Jack encourages code sharing (although I'm not sure why) and it makes for a very comfortable place to be, even if the prizes are tough to get.
--
Well, I've rambled on enough, but I've felt a huge weight off my shoulders since I dropped ClearChannel programs. So far I don't feel very pressured with these other ones.

I definitely agree that ALL the programs are weak right now.
Kyxy and fox6 are the easiest due to their cut-off times of midnight. However, none of the programs have very many prizes to offer (I use fox mainly for movies-since, like Jack and 760kfmb, they offer only ONE prize and it goes quicker than the speed of light. Hopefully KYXY will do better, at least they offer 2 or 5 or sometimes 25 of a certain prize.
Jack points are easy, but I have NEVER been able to click a prize when it goes up, and KIISQUEEN frequently posts the times the prizes are going up (unfortunately about 1000 other readers also sees it)
I'm not so sure that JACK encourages code-sharing, tho. This is from KFMB's page(I can't get into Jack's webpage right not to verify-but I'd think it would be the same)
"3. Members are not authorized to access any other members' accounts, including entering codes or exchangeing CHANNEL 8 REWARDS CLUB credits (points) for prizes or awards, even if the other member is a family member. Members need to enter codes and play the various CHANNEL 8 REWARDS CLUB games and surveys themselves to legally accumulate credits (points)."
To me, this sounds like "no no on the sharing thing"
Anyway, I too have rambled on enough. It does somehow feel better. Thanks for listening.
Entering codes for someone else is very different from sharing codes with someone else.
Jack explicitly allows you to share codes. That's the very purpose of the Jack forums on the Hot Monkey Club -- which KFMB HOSTS! (And no -- I don't understand why they do it, either. It contributes to the extreme difficulty in redeeming any of those points.)

Yes, Jack shares codes, but the Channel 8 program may not.

And, now that Mary has moved to CC she has implemented a program she had a KyXy. She keeps track of all your wins on all the CC stations and if the total value for the year exceeds $600 she then has CC send you a 1099...even if none of your wins exceeded the 1099 limit of $600.
