I think the weekly page code (also known as the "Red" word) was PARADE and was posted a few posts above.
IMO, there is no need to continually ask for codes because the people on this board are great at posting if they hear it. If the code hasn't been posted then that means no one has officially heard it yet.

They are a little lax in updating the site. They don't get the word AND the space for it in at the same time. So if you happen to log in and one word works - Great! Later the other works. Don't sweat it. As long as the points log into your account you are good.
And feel free to make as many wild guesses as you want - if you happen to get the word correct, it is not a problem. he radio station could NOT care less. You are listening and playing along and that is all they really want. They will obviously NOT penalize you since the station has a shill logging in here and they know exactly what is happening! AND don't care. Now if you were SELLING the info, then you got a problem! ha ha ha
Otherwise, chill out and enjoy the space...
Padresfan31
06-11-2007, 03:30 PM
I don't have a problem with anyone bring up concerns for the fact that KYXY has been VERY lax and boneheaded when it comes to updating the website properly. They do need their sponsors or they wouldn't exist. KYXY needs us to view the website, look at the adds and decide from there. Whether I agree or not I enjoy this board because during a busy workday I can't always keep up with all the point opportunities contributed by everyone.
I don't think it's a place to suggest for others to CHILL OUT...

Lorelei
06-28-2007, 08:36 PM
If you're new to the movie passes PadresFan, make sure you arrive PLENTY EARLY! Not only KyXy, but lots of other radio stations, car lots, take out food places, etc. are handing out "free passes" to the Harry Potter premier. They routinely give out more passes than there are seats in the theater. You can be turned away, even if you've waited an hour (as I and a friend and two little boys were VERY dissapointed at a Spiderman premier some years ago).....
XquizitOne
06-28-2007, 09:00 PM
Me too...I can relate to the premiere 'turndown.' My friend & I arrived over an hour early and still had to leave - several other places had handed out passes too. We were seriously disappointed as we'd spent our accumulated points to get the tickets and did not get to see the movie....

2 roundrip airfare to hawaii, endup with 1,785,500 points..
Hmm... some 'smarti' won it. Thats almost two million points. I dont know, how they can play, without buying anything.
I was wondering, what they would do, if suddenly they announce, they are going to start fresh (like they did for clearchannel last year)
Anyhow, whoever it is, enjoy..

I have my eye on one of the auctions & I have over a million points too, but nowhere near the points that won the airline tickets. What scared me about those tickets was there was no info - it stated restrictions apply, but never told you what they were.....:spock:

See, this is what I'm complaining about! What kind of "frequent listener" program rewards their listeners with a prize once every three years? I haven't cashed in for a prize in well over a year and I'm only up to about 1/2 a million points so far. At this rate it will be 2009 before I can bid on anything!

I agree-----KYXY needs MORE prizes-both for auction and TRADE-INs
there are very few trade-ins,and few auctions that end up going for MILLIONS of points!!!!!

They used to give thousands of points (like 25K) for simple things at events, l;ike buying a sandwich. You can still get those with their "house" ads, but unless you're in the market to buy a house, it's a wasye of your time to go to these places and collect points that will probably never go toward anything useful.

I tried gathering the troops in Jan here to boycott the ClearChannel group but apparently everyone likes the abuse they get.
Also, I suspect that our numbers are small enough that we'd have little impact on their program and their advertisers would continue to give them their trinkets and ultra-high-priced prizes.

In case you missed the discussion elsewhere about "poison" codes, a few years ago some of the stations introduced fake codes (through planted members) on some boards and when these were entered, you got points and your ac**** was subsequently cancelled for code-sharing. This is why we like confirmations from trusted members.
So just because the word gives you points does not mean that it is a good code.

Thank you for reminding everyone here about the Poison code danger Dogo. I have never known KYXY to use them, but anything is possible. These new members here with no posts (b/c you don't get post credit for posts in the freebie threads) worry me a little.

I have a question, has anybody ever won one of those Sweepstakes thing? And if you did, how many entries did you have to buy? I like the prizes they offer in that section but so far, I keep wasting my points on them and I never win. :disa:
utcpal
07-12-2007, 09:54 AM
If its "MM" dont even try it. If the sweepstakes are "L", then you have little chance of winning. Also, play if the no. of prizes are 5 or more for the sweepstake item. Ive got a couple of prizes (like boomers tickets etc)
MM- multi market
L - Local (you can see this label at the top of each sweepstake prize item info)

WHAT DO "MM" & "L" STAND FOR ???????
MM = Mass Market (maybe). Many radio stations and many more people trying for the prize
L = They draw from only our local station for the prize.

A few eeks ago I won two of the sweepstakes for Wild Animal Park tickets....total of 8 tickets. I won both sweepstakes with only one entry each.
Like most sweepstakes your ability to win depends on how popular the prize is. In this case not too many people wanted the prize I guess.
