If I were buying a new blender today, this (http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/sr=10-13/qid=1080315344/ref=sr_10_13/602-3653911-2527012?%5Fencoding=UTF8&asin=B00004S8F8) is the one I'd get, no question.

I bought a multi-speed Osterizer at Target a couple years ago, and it's pretty good at everything, too. Make sure you get one with a glass pitcher. Plastic gets nasty.

I agree with the OSTER blenders (osterizers)..they work good..and definately go with a glass pitcher. Kitchen Aid stuff is nice -works great and although expensive pays for itself after a few months if you use it all the time..what do you guys use blenders for? I don't even own one anymore..they are too much of a pain to clean.

It may just be that I'm a college student, but my Free after rebate Kitchen-Aid 12 speed mixer has worked well for milkshakes and smoothies. I'm not even sure what all the speeds are for, but it works :P

I love my Osterizer...I even grind coffee beans in it...much cheaper than buying a coffee grinder and the frozen drinks in the summer are awesome!
