Just had a stroke of genius.
Putting multiple Nero .nrg files onto a DVD-R and using Nero's ImageDrive to access the multiple "discs" from the one disc.
I'm probably behind the times with this... but it's new to me. That's all.

Hmmm.. so lemme "aks" you somethin...
Could you rip 7 or so PC game CD's to .nrg format, slap the .nrg's on a DVD-R, then it would be like never having to put in the game CD's for each game you play?

I was thinking more for installs, drivers and Windows CDs, but I suppose you could do that.
Not being a real gamer, I do seem to recall that some games require the original disc, no? But if that is not the case, I'd assume you could do that.
If these games require heavy disc access... there could be performance issues (maybe). But I don't know that for sure.
That WOULD be nice, though. Not having to pop discs in and out, eh? Just have one in there and use the ImageDrive to access the images on the DVD.
The advantage would be space savings on your HD, of course. If you have a 250GB drive, or something, this could be moot for the gaming purpose.

D7 is correct in that you need the original game CD as a means of copy protection. The copy protection is so strong that most CD copying programs won't copy the protection and many CD burners can't burn the protection even with the right software. Having to put a CD in every time you want to play that game is a bit of a pain. There are a few websites that do have patches for most games so you won't need to put the CD in to play the game if you did a full installation.

I haven't tried this, but it is from the makers of DVD X Copy (which is in litigation- get this one while it is still available) and claims that you can put the disc on your drive or make a personal use backup of games, CDs, or DVDs. It is new- anyone tried it?
GAMESXCOPY™
1. Back Up your ENTIRE PC Game collection!
GAMESXCOPY lets you make a PERFECT backup copy of virtually any PC Game. GAMESXCOPY is a powerful utility and all you need is a PC with either a CD or a DVD burner. No more threat of losing a game due to theft, scratches, skipping, freezing or other media imperfections. Your copy works just like the original; your entire collection can be archived and your investment protected.
Either use a blank disc or write the entire game to your hard disc drive. Imagine the possibilities of playing a game without needing the original disc.
2. How GAMESXCOPY works:
GAMESXCOPY does not change any of the original game content. GAMESXCOPY creates an exact image of your PC game. GAMESXCOPY then uses exclusive AUTO-BURN technology to transfer the image onto a CD or DVD. Once backed up, you can store your original PC game safe on the shelf and then either play your game from your hard drive or from the backup disc.
3. Work with all popular blank media or just use your PC’s hard disc drive:
