I dropped THO off at the airport a while ago. She arrived late last Tuesday, and we had a wonderful time while she was here. I took Wednesday & Thursday afternoons and all day Friday off to spend time with her.
Wednesday was being lazy, dinner with hotred at my place, then dessert at Applebee's with PI and her SO. Thursday was a late lunch with my mom and stepdad, then movie night (which is normally on Tuesday) at hotred's place. Friday we took a commuter bus into downtown Seattle (thus avoiding Seattle's outrageous parking lot fees - she's a devoted user of mass transit anyway) and met up with a mutual friend for a Thai food lunch. We wandered down to Pike Place Market and played tourist, then hopped the bus back to the park n ride, then home. Friday night was a 23-person dinner at Red Robin, and a good time was had by all. Saturday was mygrrrl's birthday. We met up with her, her BF, and her mom for lunch at Zoopa's. Saturday night was a smaller dinner with a few close friends.
We were both peopled-out by last night, so today was just the two of us, excepting breakfast with hotred and her BF.
What a wonderful visit we had. Lots of friends and laughs and kisses and smiles and talks. It felt so natural having her here, living with me. I was instantly used to seeing her things in my living room, my bathroom, my bedroom. My space. Our space.
But now her things are gone. My space is once again all my own, and I find it lacking. One heartbeat does not a home make.
