the story makes no sense. Girl dissapears a couple of nights ago. She leaves her appartment at like 2:30AM. People thought she was dead and then someone spots her in a swamp. According to her, she was abducted for a couple of days but not harmed. I'm glad shes back. Just doesn't make any sense to me.

She was attacked before. Sounds like a stalker who doesn't want to hurt her but wants her to know that he loves her. I'd also say that the reason why she left was probably to let a person into her apartment, or get a pizza, or something akin to that. My fiance and I were discussing this stuff, it's common practice in college, I used to do it a lot.

She certainly didn't plan on going somewhere, no jacket or anything, its still damn cold up there.

Even the 1st attack was strange. According to her some guy hits her on the head and she passes out. He drags her behind a building and she wakes up without any other injuries.

I hope they catch whoever did it but it's strange to say the least.

It's a common pratice to stalk people in college? Crap, I'm almost graduated and I haven't started yet! (well, except twee, and I think the area code rule applies here.)

What I don't understand is that if she was attacked before (recently too) what's she doing roaming around outside at 2:30am?

no no no, it's common practice to leave your dorm/apt in the middle of the night for a pizza...

i remember visiting some friends at U of I in the dorms...the pizza joints were open for hours past midnight, and typically delivered that late too. we'd go out into the lobby, and there'd be a bunch of kids just hangin out in their pj's 2 or 3 in the morning...

i dunno what, but pokey stix and gumby's pizza at 2:30 in the morning is great!

anyways, she probably did go open to door to let someone she knew in, or...possibly her "stalker" rang her door, and she went out to check...

OR

it could be some hoax....like the guy who said he was abducted by islamics and was being held ransoms...when in actuallity he was just pissed off after some Valentines day fight with his girl...

or like that chick who killed/drowned her kids, and said some "black" dude car jacked her and took her kids...

yeah, that whole case is very strange. the first attack was bizarre, and now this is weird too. hopefully, they can get to the bottom of it...

Ya, it's definately weird. Plus didn't she say she was abducted by a man wielding a gun and a knife? Who carries both? I'm not too sure about this fact, I try to stay away from the stupid sob stories on the news.

Cops say she admitted it was a hoax, and now says it was not a hoax, but instead was abducted from a different location... I think we got a messed up chick here, and it ain't getting any clearer.

If she really is lying about the whole ordeal, then that chick is definitely carrying a freaking cargo ship of baggage. Perhaps she wanted the attention, perhaps she's schizophrenic. I'm glad she's okay, but if they find she was lying, they should ship her off to an institution to get some help.

Sounds like she had a late night booty call with Bayou Billy and just made up that excuse so her boyfriend won't find out or wonder where she has been. :)

- Citing inconsistencies in her account, police say they believe there is no suspect at large in reported kidnapping of Wisconsin college student.

Ya, she has to be lying. So many holes in her story. Anyone know when midterms are in Wisconsin? ;)

Wray cited inconsistencies in 20-year-old Audrey Seiler's story that led police to question her claim. For example, the honor student told told police that her captor used duct tape, rope, cold medicine, a gun and a knife to keep her under his control.

Although those items were found in the marsh where she was located, buttressing her account, police obtained videotape Thursday that showed Seiler entering a Madison store and buying those items, he said.

In addition, during those four days she said she was held captive, someone used her computer to look up a five-day weather forecast and search wooded areas in and around Madison, he said.

Perhaps she has some psychological problems, the circumstances of her disapearance have some paralells with fuge and amnesia.

After reading a CNN article I was also thinking about some type of fuge state. Perhaps one where she even took on the role of her abductor, some type of disassociative fuge. In my psych classes we saw a tape of a guy that was a pastor, had a disassociative fuge where he became the operator of a cat house...

define fuge for those who've never taken a psych class.

oh, so its like that movie "Identity", right?

i wonder if anyone ever has a disassociative fuge where they become a hooker with a heart of gold (Amanda Peet was HOT!) :P

A fuge state is extreme amnesia that is usually temporary, but they can also end up remembering their past experience. People have been known to take on completely different personalities, actions, and lifestyles. Some can have normal family lives, disappear, and then reappear months or years later as an entirely different person.

Or, they can come back and be normal again, sometimes remembering what they did, other times not. I dont remember if there was an exact cause for it though.

I think you're missing the "d". It's fudge.

Fudge (n.) - A delicious candy, very sugary, which comes in a variety of flavors, the best of which is a peanut butter/chocolate mix.

Of course, if you are referring to a dissociative fugue...

Fugue (fyoog) - An offshoot of amnesia. In cases of dissociative fugue, people can suddenly leave town for long periods, and return just as suddenly, remembering little about why they left or what they'd done while gone.

Thanks for that one go to my minor in Psychology. Woot!
