Any recommendations or experience with particular brands/models???
I run alot as well as lift weights, so I'm looking for the best mp3 player out there, minimum 256mb but seeking much more.
I was thinking the Rio Cali Sport 256mb, but read the armband is crappy. I really want a 15-20Gb player...but none of them seem to have waist or armbands :(
Thanks

Hmm, I've always been leary of iPod's because of limited storage capacity and high prices. But it is pretty small and comes with a beltclip. I'll look into that, thanx :D
Anymore suggestions, people?

I currently have an MP3/CD player, but its on its way out. I think the IPOD is the way to go. YOu can get an IPOd for the same price of something with less space.

What about the regular iPod's? Are there optional waist or armbands available for purchase?
40 Gb iPod    -- another great option (a bonus, not a necessity) is the ability to use in my car...

Thank you for asking this illWill, I was wondering the same thing. I personally recommend a flash drive with no moving parts. Also I have found some hella good deals on ebay. 128 creative labs muvo for 50 dollars NIB.

cool...yeah, I noticed that on their website.
Question: Is the iPod small/light enough to have it on your waist while running??? I haven't seen one in person, but am guessing its a lil too big to run with comfortably...

No prob :wavey2:
$50 for a muvo is damn cheap...but 128mb is too small for me. Keep me informed if you find any more deals!
EDIT: aren't flash cards kinda expensive?

if you consider a speed walk a jog, then yea it is kind of a pain to run with the ipod. although mine was in my pocket and my shorts were a little too big, so that may have been why i didnt like it. i dont think the ipod is that bulky to not run with it. ive seen people at the gym work out and stuff with their ipods.
also, the ipods now are a lot smaller than the first ones. try going to an apple store or a university bookstore, they should have floor models that you can play around with

Thanks everyone for your input thus far.
Hmmm, i'm leaning towards a 4 Gb player, not too small (in storage capacity) and not too big in size. I like what i am reading about the Creative MuVo2's, so I'm leaning twoards that right now, at $200+tax. I'll post what I get once I order it (like you all care, lol ;))

Looks like i'm passing on the Muvo2...
and going with the iRiver iFP-390T 256mb!!! Special thanx to cheesypuff and g222 for the recommendation -- i didn't even consider the iRiver as an option til the last minute. (Best Buy for $160 after $20 rebate...plus my roommate works there so can get a discount :D)
critically-acclaimed over the net -- here's a glowing review from IGN (http://gear.ign.com/articles/401/401270p1.html). Turns out that physical size, skip-free music, and interface played a bigger role over storage capacity than i initially thought! I'll just get a hard drive-based player when i decide to use an mp3 player for my car system. Thanks everyone for your recommendations, it helped a bunch! :wavey2:
