City of Heroes Beta Testing starts tomorrow

A friend's been testing this for a while and it looks pretty sweet. They've got another round of testing starting tomorrow that I'm signed up for. Since it's a random draw, I can only hope I'll get picked.

If it hasn't already been posted, it's an online game that lets you create a superhero based on various comic book powers. The options of powers that you can pick seemed to be pretty extensive, but I've never played an online only game. The idea seems cool, going around a city beating up villains and super villians, but there's no player vs player, yet.

Anywho, you guys are bigger game gurus than I, so I'll just put up the link if you're interested in signing up. Let me know if you get in.

Oh, one more thing: I saw some guy running around with a character that looked exactly like Strong Bad a few nights ago. Pretty damned funny.

Its ok. Im not sure if I will buy the game or not.. no pvp what so ever! Just duels atm. I cant stand doing missions 24/7...its like SWG all over again.

I don't know..Im glad I got into the beta so atleast I can decide now without wasting 50 bucks in the end. :throw:

Didn't they say something about PvP in an expansion called "city of villains" or something like that?

They should have done the villains (PvP) thing right from the start, I think that'll turn a lot of gamers off. It's reason enough for me anyway. As far as I know, they are planning on implementing it in an expansion.

to be honest, the most fun part about the game is the character creation. it's soooooo unbelievably extensive.

but other than that, the gameplay is pretty repetitive, which is apparently a concern for a lot of people who have played it. i will try to post some screen shots when i get the chance.

Yeah, they're taking it down in a few days. I don't know if I'll have the cash once I get a house. Can't say I've had tremendous fun yet.

heya, well me and grubbie finally got accepted... though we can't dl atm. Seems the servers are down or something. The whole plaync thing is annoying. How many stupid accounts do you have to make already?

It is fun, I want to play it some more before the beta is up to decide if I want to buy it to play for a month or two. It is fun so far, just wish there were more of a Variety with monsters.

it seems like a fun game. Sucks that i only have these 3 days to really try it out.

The only issue i have is if it will get boring. All you have is leveling up and enhancing your abilities. So not much else to really strive for (at least yet)

Not sure how it will be at the higher levels though.

I will probably buy it and play it for a while, just something to do.

Although my character looked the best ever, Im not paying monthly just to strut a costume. World of Warcraft will offer more options than CoH has right now...its waayyy to repetitive + no pvp just adds to it.
