How do you determine if a USB port is 1.2 or 2.0?

Without going into the bios or knowing what mobo you have?

XP will detect it for you - if you look under Device Manager and select Universal Serial Bus Controllers. It will display all of the ports you have available. If the ports are described as Standard, then they are 1.1/1.2. 2.0 will have a different designation.
