3 months ago, i bought a 80gig seagate HD from bestbuy.
2 months ago, i was supposed to receive a nice rebate of 50 dollars (a LOT for a starving college student! :neartears )
now i am wondering where those 50 dollars went.

i know it's one of the inherent dangers/trouble of a mail in rebate, but i'm sure i filled out everything and put everything in the envelope they wanted. does anyone know how i might get in contact with bb's rebate service line (or even seagate, for that matter). i have been anxiously looking at my empty mailbox for quite some time now.

thanks much in advance.

did you make copies of what you send (please tell me you did)

there should be a rebate number on the back of the receipt, if not the company email.

contact them about your situation, and see if you missed any information. BB usually are pretty quick on rebates

ALWAYS send rebates worth $50 or more certified mail. IT IS WELL WORTH IT!!! Aslo like CC said, ALWAYS make copies of the rebates, it has the number to call the company at the bottom.

hrm...guess i gotta find those nonexistant copies of the receipt then =/ i was in a rush at the time and didn't have them made. i guess i will still try to call someone at best buy and see the next best alternative. thanks for the replies. i appreciate it.

I have a 3-ring binder which i've labeled "Rebates". That has all of my rebate info/copies - UPC code, receipts, filled out forms, etc. Once the rebate comes in, I just take the corresponding stuff out (if its expensive stuff, then I keep the copies of the UPC or serial number in case I need it in the future).

The system has worked for me... the only rebate I wasn't able to resolve is a $20 from 1998.
