Reincarnation and Karma

By John Payne
[email protected]

There is much misconception about karma (http://www.au.spiritweb.org/Spirit/karma.html) and exactly how it operates. Many new age teachers have brought this information to an enquiring audience but it has been tainted by that age old challenge to conciousness raising, fear.

Each and every one of you has free will, freedom to choose how to grow. You may choose to grow with joy, or alternately, through pain, anguish, and fear.

The law of karma is not a justice and retribution system, so anyone who had much suffering in this life is not a victim of 'bad karma', but simply finds themselves in predicaments that are simply the result of their own beliefs about themselves.

It is not only humans that feel guilt, but souls can feel it, experience and carry it round with them for many lifetimes.

What in god's name is this supposed to mean? What sort of reaction are you looking for here? This is neither thought provoking nor especially interesting. I've kind of come to expect more from you, and frankly, judging by the increasing distaste other members have shown to your choice of forum, people don't like to see these here.
No one likes to be preached to.

Wow.
That was incredibly uncalled for.

Not looking for a reaction, just pointing interested folks in the right direction.

Penny's still sore at me for implying she wasn't open minded; I know you are

Hey, I'm always looking for used karma. I'm willing to offer a few shiny beads and a bottle of Moosehead (beer).

Penny, I think your reaction was completely uncalled for. This IS the off topic forum and in the description of this forum it says, "Talk about whatever is on your mind."

I have noticed that your attitude really needs adjusting lately and I am NOT the only one that has noticed this. Please find the pennypinch that used to be fun to be around and lose the one that just likes to bitch and moan. Okay?

I know this is going to hack you off and I'll get flamed for it. But knock it off for crying out loud.

We love you, now be nicer to people.
Maggie

What's all this yelling coming from this thread? Looks like the muzzle will have to come out if it continues. http://news.agn.com/forum3d/i/expressions/face-icon-small-blush.gif

OK, I apologize. I've been crankier than usual, being on East coast time for the last two weeks. These 13 hour days are putting me in a very poor mood, and I certainly reacted rather badly to this post. I found his other articles more thought provoking and less preachy, that's all. I'll try and be a little less crabby...but no guarantees! http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/wink.gif

So is AA/NA, the Republicans, and the Democrats. Cult is shorthand for shared culture.

A VOYAGE TO KNOWLEDGE OF THE AFTERLIFE

Do the many levels of consciousness that we can access in 'out-of-body' travels, prove the existence of life beyond this one?

by Bruce Moen

...

THE GOOD SHIP 'CURIOSITY'

Death was once a Great Unknown to me. Gazing out to sea, I wondered: Is there another shore beyond the horizon of physical life? For centuries, religions preached eternal bliss or pain there, and science preached an edge that we sail off into non-existence. I once believed that anyone claiming knowledge of that distant shore must have some special psychic gift, perhaps a near-death experience or some other cosmic bonk on the head, to explain their ability. Yet, none of those applies to me. I'm just an ordinary guy whose curiosity about human existence beyond the physical world led to the extraordinary experience of knowing. And I've discovered that nothing separates us ordinary folks from this ability, except our willingness to let Curiosity carry us on voyages of discovery.

It seems like there's a shortage of Christians at this forum. I am not broadminded when it comes to spiritual values. I do not accept the New Age philosophy that all roads lead to God or that your so-called good deeds will get you to heaven; but then my narrow minded belief that Jesus is the only way guarantees my ticket to everlasting life.
