Well depending on the bear it could be black, brown, or white. Then again there is a thing called a BLUE BEAR, which has a blueish/ grey tint to it...

how about this:

in a small village in the middle of nowhere, three innocent prisoners are sitting in a jail. One day, the cruel jailer takes them out and places them in a line on three chairs, in such a way that man C can see both man A and man B, man B can see only man A, and man A can see none of the other men. the jailer shows them 5 hats, 2 of which are black and 3 of which are white. after this, he blindfolds the men, places one hat on each of their heads, and removes the blindfolds again. the jailer tells his three prisoners that if one of them is able to determine the color of his hat within one minute, all of them are released. otherwise, they will all be shot. none of the prisoners can see his own hat, and all are intelligent. after 59 seconds, man A shouts out the (correct) color of his hat!

the question: what is the color of man A's hat, and how does he know?

His hat is white. Since C does not talk, A and B must have either B/W(Black/White) or W/W. Since B does not talk, the only other possiblity is W/W.

hmm well i can give u one of my riddles...

There is 10 open bags of gold bars. each bag has over 100 bars. one of the bags is full of fake bars. The fake bars weigh less then the real ones. There is a scale.
Find the least amount of times of wieghing is needed find out which bag is the fake one.

hmmm... is it possible?

i mean say the trip was 30 miles so avg 30 miles an hour u get to end in 1 hour
so if u take 15mph then to reach half way u need 1 hour thus u can't have avg 30 miles in 1 hour... maybe i have to think a bit more on this problem...

two measurements are needed. arrange the bags and number them. take 1 bar from the first bag, 2 bars from the second bag, 3 bars from the third bag, etc. you can calculate which bag contains the fake by first finding the average weight of one of the bars on the scale (total weight / (1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9+10=55), followed by replacing all of the bars and weighing one full basket of your choice. next you would count the number of bars in the basket you just weighed to calculate the average wt. if it is less than the average weight you calculated previously, you know that the basket you just weighed contains the fakes. however, if it is more than the previous average, you can calculate which basket contains the fakes (since you now know the weight of one real bar) by a series of proportional equations. at least this is what i would do http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

That is correct although i think one is needed since u know that the fakes wiegh less u should be able to figure out which one is not correct.

i think you got me there - i forgot that it was already known that the fakes weigh less. although, how would you be able to calculate which is fake if you don't know the exact weight of either the real bars or the fake bars? i think you may still need two measurements.

one more before i leave work:

four men want to cross a bridge. they all begin on the same side. It is night, and they have only one flashlight with them. at most two men can cross the bridge at a time, and any party who crosses, either one or two people, must have the flashlight with them.
the flashlight must be walked back and forth: it cannot be thrown, etc. each man walks at a different speed. a pair must walk together at the speed of the slower man. man 1 needs 1 minute to cross the bridge, man 2 needs 2 minutes, man 3 needs 5 minutes, and man 4 needs 10 minutes. for example, if man 1 and man 3 walk across together, they need 5 minutes.

so, how can all four men cross the bridge in 17 minutes?

3 Quarters and 9 Dimes won't work because:
2 quarters + 5 dimes = $1

You can have 3 quarters 4 dimes and 4 pennies for a total of $1.19 but not have change for a dollar.
