So way back when my car didn't pass smog, yadda yadda, I dropped 400 to get it to pass smog, fine and dandy. A few days ago the inside if my catalytic converter is breaking apart. You can hear it flying around when i'm going from stop and aywhere at low RPMs until it gets tossed against something. The dealership wants 400, he told me that maybe eventually the pieces that are broken will fly outmy tailpipe, or I can get one from a muffler shop for like 150. Since I WANT to get rid of it soon, I think this is the best way to go, any objections??? Stupid thing!!!!!

what size cat do you need? I have a brand new carsound cat that WONT break like your other one. $80 brand new in the box

A few years ago the resonator under my older integra broke, so it sounded like it was rattling around in there. If you have something similar, just remove it and weld in a baffle or straight pipe.

If it IS your catalyctic converter, your're pretty much getting a great deal if they FIX it for $150.

When you say "Get rid of it" do you mean your car, or the noise?

It's its your car and you just passed smog, just remove the broken part. If you meant the sound, don't skimp on the catalytic converter. If you mess with it, hot exhaust gas can build up and cause misfires or backfires.

u cant really fix a cat. Once the elements break inside then you are done for. You can get a universal cat for around $100 and a new bolt on for a little more so I dont think $150 is a deal.

If you catalytic converter broke, get a high flow one so you could get extra hp at the same time.

Someone told me you can pass smog by mixing methanol in your fuel tank. I should be worth a try.
