Hmm, not sure about whiskey in the freezer. Just to be safe, you better go ahead and give it to me instead. :)
It's okay to put whiskey in the freezer, nothing will happen to it, but what is the point? Whiskey is supposed to be used at room temperature or in a mixed drink. Freezing it will not serve any purpose, especially if you want to drink it neat. Vodka, on the other hand, is great in the freezer, because it's often server neat as a shot or in mixed drinks, but hardly ever at room temp.

Don't tell anyone, but in college (ok, I am old, so this is a reference from the 80's :eek3: ) we used to substitute vodka from the freezer where bong water would normally reside. Made for a very cooool and interesting smoke. Till one day my roomie put the vodka BACK into the freezer - :puke:

ROFLMAO.
Oh. Man.
I had a good chuckle with that one. Makes me want to try that, but why waste good vodka to get stoned, when just getting stoned is good enough.
Eh, I'm to chicken to try, well that and my own personal promise to stay away from things that are considered illegal.

I used to keep cheap whiskeys in the freezer. Those were only used for mixing, though. I would never freeze whiskey that you plan on serving straight or just with water.

i can not fathom the idea of drinking vodka at room temperature. Most every bar i went to keeps vodka on a stand or just on ice, that is not good enough, vodka has to be in the freezer, it's supposed to pour like sirup

Don't ever stick dry ice in the freezer to try and save it for a rainy day. We did that once in the dorm fridge, and put tequilla in the freezer and we froze it solid. We had tequilla Slushies.
