have you ever just thought you'd like a total career change?
and what would you like to do in lieu of what you are doing now?

i really admire someone who can just drop everything, go back to college, and make that change.

Not so much of a career change for me, but I packed up my bags after I graduated from college and moved to Los Angeles without a job. Been here 2 years now.

As far as switching industries or career paths, I have to be honest and say it would be difficult for me to change my career path since I love what I do, but I can definitely see myself bouncing around various industries.

eh, i'm on my 4th career now, and i'm only 24. of course, i'm not sure #3 really counted as a "career" since i knew i was going back to school when i started it, but i'm on at least #3.

i think i'll stick with this one for at least a couple years, but we'll see.

I'd really like to have a massive career change, but I don't think that counts since I'm not actually doing what I'd like to be doing now anyway. :hmm:

In lieu of what I am doing right now? I'd like to be a full-time writer, but I'd have to be established before I could do that and not have to worry about the bills.

I plan to have a career change eventually. Figure I'll continue with my life as planned... pay off my loans, raise a family, etc... then when the children are set up in life, and I can do whatever I want without consequences, I'm going to teach.

I'd go back and be a Landscape Architect.

I need to win the lottery before I can drop everything and start over though :/

If I ever do go for a career change, I'd go into marketing. Sure as hell beats the pants offa working 12-14hr days ;)

(this is in reference to my current job where our marketing dept does pretty much nothing and takes about 8 to 10 months to do so (Bitter? Me? Nah.)).

You don't need to go back to school to change careers. A lot of employers will accept the fact that you got a degree already. You just have to find the right fit.

I'm in a field far from what I got my degree in.

I haven't been happy working in IT for quite some time now, even though I mostly enjoy my current job. Tired of the corporate BS, tired of people being afraid of right-clicking, tired of people telling me they can't print when the real problem is that the PC won't even boot.

I'm going to try to break into Renewable Energy after I move to NC later this year.

i went to college to study Mechanical Engineering.
2 years later, i left school (didnt finish my studies), and opened up a guitar shop. Had it for over 2 years when stuff happened (long story).
6 months later, i went into retail. 8 years went by and decided i was bored out of my skull, and wrote an "effective immediately" resignation letter. no one had a clue, and i was resolved never to go back.
I then went into Tech Support in a totally different field. i love what i do now.
until i find something better, or i find this totally boring again. :)
