Can you add a 6' 21-pin serial patch cable to the end of a normal printer cable?

Better question is: WHAT ARE YOU DOING STILL USING A PARALLEL CABLE, anyway? I mean...hey...get into the 21st century! Parallel ports are for hacking your Xbox or GBA only!

ha ha... I ended up just getting one at the local store... but it sucks I can't figure out what's going on with the usb port

we have a local $ store that sells them for $1(12 foot printer cables). They also sell a pack with 6' usb -> usb cable and a 6' usb->device wires in it for a buck.....
