I have some gift certificates for Best Buy and I've been wanting to get UT 2004. Fry's has it on sale for $28 this weekend so I figure it's a good way to use the gc. I get to the cashier and they say they don't pricematch Fry's because they're not local. The store is 15 minutes away! How is that not local?

you fault for not getting the manager involved. Stupid peon workers will say whatever they can to get out of doing work. Also having there ad in hand is very helpful. Managers will do crap like that because it is only a couple dollers off to make yuo happy.

I had the ad and I had the peon ask the store manager, who was at lunch at the time.

....sounds like everyone is trying to get out of work. :)

bad timing. If you didn't already purchase the game, they should honor that deal.

I'd go back and demand to talk to a manager. Persistence pays off. :thumb:

RC just owned himself.

Also I was reading in the paper about how best buy is trying to move to a more "customer centric" type of store, where the customer is now important. Basically if you are cool about it, you can get almost anything you want done with in reason. Also there is ALWAYS a manager at bestbuy. They tried to give me crap about that once, but a manager w/ keys has to be in the building at all times. Then they try to throw the favorite, they are all in a meeting, which can be true, but you can get them out of the meeting.

Call up and complain. If a store is not following policy corporate should know about it.

And you should get something for letting them know! :)

lol@you. Corporate won't do sh1t for you. You did not get a manager involved, just a lonely peon employee. You probably do not know names, and not price matching is not a very big deal. Things like this you have to take up at the store level. However corporate will write you a nice letter back saying thank you, but nothing more will come of it.
