Obviously many of us have broken or destroyed ourselves in some way or another. What have you had gone wrong?
Me:
Hip = two titanium pins to stop the slipped epiphsis - when the top of my femur was popping out of the socket
Knee = scoped to remove parts
Wrist = snapped ligaments and tendons
Fingers = Everyone broken at least once, some more
Toes = Everyone broken at least once....many more than once
Ankles = Ripped every single ligament and tendon in one ankle, broke the other one 3 times (Tibia, Fibula and also a break right below the knee that wasnt caught at the time), currently completely scewed up (the same one that I ripped all the ligaments and tendons on)
Skull = 2 concusions
Teeth = Chipped 3 of them, 2 in a swimming accident, one some other time
Hmmm.... I think that is it. So what about everyone else?

I've had 2 concussions, broken most of my fingers including a bone in my hand, and I've broken a bone in my foot I think.

Dayuuum... you've lead a hard life UF.
Fortunately, I've never broken any bones.. but I've had messed up ligaments in my knees and foot, and now I have double sciatic nerve pinches on both sides of my lower back.
Currently, I've been dealing with bursitis in both of my shoulders...

Unfortunately, I did a majority of my injuries before college. Whats funny, is I never broke anything playing football (when I was allowed to play football) but have broken things swimming.
Another funny thing is that when I graduated High School, the joke where will they be in ten years said, living under the sea so he doesnt break any more bones.

Yeah....that might take way too long for me.
Wrist = I was wrestling around with some people, the one guy put my arm in an imobolizing hold...one that you cant get out of supposedly. I got out of it apparently by ripping some ligiments in my wrist. I could tell that I had screwed it up immediately. Hurt like hell.
Toes = Spent summer sailing around on a boat...deck tackle and bare feet are a bad combination when you are racing. I broke every toe that summer. I had a freaking tape line from the sun. I also broke toes by having crap dropped on them and accidentially having a door bounce off of a ball left behind it and into my foot as I walked in.
Ankle = 1. Fell 10+ feet onto concrete (the tibia, fibula, and knee break) 2. playing volleyball ...went up for a spike and came down on it wrong. 3. Accidentially stepping on something coming down stairs...ended up rolling ankle three ways, ripping every single tendon and ligament 4. i forget how
Concussion - 1. Slipping on ice gave myself double concussion. 2. I dont remember
Teeth - 1. I was swimming laps during team practice when some idiot who was coming in late dove on top of me...broke two of my teeth. 2. Dont recall
Fingers - 1. Some idiot dropped 100 lbs of weight on my finger in the gym. I was going to reset the pin on my machine when this idiot grabbed it and then dropped it. I was eight. 2.- ? - Lots of stupid and improbable ways. Such as while I was stretching for a meet, slipping on the wet tiles flinging my own foot up and kicking myself in the hand hard enough to break my finger, getting hit by lane ropes, and other things.
Knee - tissue got caught in the joint, locking it up and requiring surgery
Hip - I grew to fast
I think thats enough.

Nose: busted it pretty bad in a mosh pit. If only someone would have told me that I should have gone to the hospital...(I prolly still wouldn't have gone...but at least someone would have cared how my face would look ten years later)
Teeth: missing two (genetic, so I guess you can blame that one on slow developments in the humane genome project)
But everything seems to be still working, at acceptable levels of performance.

Spongebob????
I have broken my nose (batting cage ball came right back at me when we were horsing around -- I was pitching and wasn't expecting a line drive right back at me)
Broke each of my arms -- once by a babysitter. Remember when you would prop someone up on your feet as you lie on your back? We called it air planeing or superman. Well, I fell. :( Not a good feeling.
I don't remember how I broke the other one...
Broke a finger or two
Broke a few toes
And that's about it.

I really feel sheltered now.
I don't know what constitutes breaking one's nose, but I've certainly lost a lot of blood from mine as a result of it getting hit. :boxing:
That was it until about a year ago when I broke my thumb playing basketball. I didn't really mind the pain though because I was excited that I finally got to break something :)

right middle finger- My brother was on a see-saw and I was hanging from it. The fat kid on the other side jumped down and I was in the ER soon thereafter. It's a narly scar.
4th and 5th vertebral discs- more accurately, it was the cushion between them that got swollen and pinched nerves. Sciatica is a pain in the butt, literally. Not to mention the back, legs, and whatever part of your brain decides that it's in pain.
Other than that, it's just been a series of sprains and whatnot. Fun stuff.

metal plate in L arm thanks to my sister tripping me on the stairs at age 3. Growth plate was shattered.
four fractured thoracic vertibrae-compliments of a wipeout on the neighbors icy sidewalk 11 years ago- fixed with two steel rods-one on each side of the fractures
Broken left big toe-from dropping a 28 lb frozen turkey on it.
Broken baby toe-from smashing it into the corner of a trunk one time when my daughter was puking and I ran to see if she was ok. (the toe was at a right angle to my foot)
Broken baby toe II. 3 weeks to the day after getting out of the horrendous boot that I had to wear for baby toe incident *1...smashed into the bedleg of my bed and the toe went snap. (back in the boot for 3 more weeks)
Broken hip-now replaced with the "wonder hip"....(ice skating)
Broken Jaw-age 12. From going over a pommel horse in gym class a bit too fast for the spotter to catch me. I landed on the bleachers behind the horse instead.(jaw wired for 2 months)
Broken Nose x 2. first time age 12-same pommel horse accident as broken jaw. second time age 25 when redoing our first home. I smacked into a two by four that was being carried into the house. (I turned quick and didnt see it in time)
Left ankle-bone broken from landing a hurdle wrong on track in high school.
stitches-(knee, hand, finger, foot,head)
and thanks to really really good genes I have a severe case of degenerative joint disease. My ankles, knees and hips are shot so I've pretty much given up on my running/walks everday-but I do go to the gym and work out on the elipticals.
Burn x 2 on Left arm from VERY HOT PIZZELLE IRON...
...I'm sure if i thought about it I'd remember the rest...

Wow, ufcrusher, I was wondering if you were related to Evel Knievel. Man, are you going to be in pain when you get older.
I have two herniated discs in my neck. Three times in the past 13 years, neurosurgeons have recommended surgery. They also told me that chiropractors would never help. Well, they were wrong.
I also broke a bone in my big toe next to a gigantic bunnion. I should have had surgery 5 years ago, but keep stalling. Maybe this winter.
Plus, I have asthma, allergies, constant ringing in the ears, GERD, dry eyes, arthritis in my back, frequent sinusitis. Plus I have had my gallbladder removed.

lessee, knee, ankles, concusion, and broken finger
knee, playing football, got blind sided because i wouldn't get hazed in 8th grade, tore my PCL, they drained 110 CCs fluid out 2 months later, i sitll have problems with it(6 years later)
ankles, sprained them both atleast once per basketball season, and even just walking(i wasn't paying attention and stepped on a pen, while not paying attention) broke one last summer a week before i went to aruba for 9 days, then had a basketball camp 2 days after that
concusion, WOOOOO!!!! go me, dove in to the stands after a loose ball, caught a bleacher behind the ear. we still don't know if i blacked out or not, i barely remember getting up.
broken finger, football when i was in 4-5 grade. i got made and threw the ball at a kid, and he threw his forehead back, my hand caught it, with a finger on the palm, the others extended

A couple of concussions- first from kickball in 3rd grade the later ones wrestling.
Ripped the ligament in my finger in wrestling practice- still bothers me sometimes
Broke two teeth below the gumline in wrestling required a double root canal (1.5 weeks after wisdom tooth removal.
Messed up my rotator cuff in judo at the state tournament.
That is about it. I have generally bad knees from football and wrestling but I have not needed to be scoped.

well, my whole left arm is burned...including a bit of my torso and some of my left nipple...:naughty:...but that was done way before i could put in a conscious effort into it (9 months old)
i was once wrestling my cousin and we both had toy waterguns, he pistle-whipped me and i have this nice scar on the side of my temple...
i was once being chased around the room by my older sister, i tripped and went head first into the corner of a coffee table...got a decent amount of stitches just right under my left eye
i've just about broken, bruised, jammed, destroyed every finger from playing basketball
but that's nothing major to say the least, i've had a pretty mild life in terms of "bone breakage"

hmm...i don't really have many fun injury stories.
broke the two little toes on my right foot once (ran them into the corner of a wall), reinjured them probably 3 months later.
i once slipped and fell playing basketball. i think i might have broken or cracked the joint where my little finger connects to my hand.
i chipped my front tooth in a bike accident when i was maybe 11 or 12.
No broken bones here, but I did have an appendix rupture and almost kill me.

i thought u die almost right away when it ruptures..? glad ur still w/ us
My tolerance for pain is extremely high and the surgeons told me that the appendix ruptured about 36 hours prior to my surgery. I thought it was indigestion.

Bad ankles, knees, shoulders, elbows, head, and a chipped tooth or 2. There's some bursitis and nerve damage. My fair share of scars. Never had a serious broken bone, just a lot of wear and tear and a couple of bad accidents.

Cracked an elbow in a bicycle fall when I was in 6th grade. I've also broken a few toes in various ways. Tore a knee ligament (required surgery) in a ski accident (the same knee is messed up now - goes out of whack if I start running suddenly). I may have broken my nose at one point (dove off the board in a swimming pool that ended up having about a 90 degree grade from the deep to the shallow end).

Ankle: Bad sprain playing basketball
Knee: Tore ligaments playing basketball. Doctors f***ed up my treatment, so it didn't heal properly. My right lower leg is now twisted a little bit outward compared to my left leg. It would be almost unnoticable except...
Lower back: Pulled muscles performing bent-over rows. Also, due to my leg injury, I had unconsciously been walking incorrectly for some years without even noticing it, until the chronic back pains started. When a chiropractor finally saw it, he said that my right hip was almost an inch higher than the other, and my spine was curving to compensate. A series of chiropractors provided temporary relief only, until I saw one who also was a physical therapist and knew some sports medicine. She was able to notice that the spinal issues were only part of the issue, and that the muscles on one side of my back had stretched and the other side contracted. She gave me some stretches to perform, as well as helped me become more aware of my body symmetry and posture, and to this day I've been recuperating. The pain is gone, but I'm still not entirely symmetrical, and will probably only get so far thanks to my f'ed up knee.
Nose: nearly broke it playing basketball. Opponent came down with the ball off a rebound and brought his elbow down hard right on the bridge. It was tingling for days.
Muscles in my forearms, wrist, and hands: Too much computer.

I have double sciatic nerve pinches on both sides of my lower back.
I have two pinched nerves at the base of my skull and my spinal column, causes a lot of upper body and shoulder pain. Got it from a very bad accident..I was stopped, guy who hit me was going 50.
Broken a toe, and that's about it.

She had that song playing (the uncensored one though) and then looks over at me. She got embarrassed and slid down the seat. My question, if you're ashamed, why not just turn the song off?
Anyhow, getting back to the point, I feel for DF, and Corsec me. We should start a G|A sciatica survivors club.

today.
by kicking the glass door on the way out.
of a trailerparktrash walfknmart here. (shoulda gone to the other one, or target!)
it wasnt really worth it, but it felt good to make everyone have a stunned look as i walked away when they heard a VERY loud crash (too bad the damn glasses didnt break).
i knew i shouldnt have gone to that specific store...
im also starting to lose good vision on my right eye - everything is just not sharp anymore, and i have a hard time reading signs that used to be easy for me to read at a distance. this probably due to 12-13 hours a day in front of a monitor. good thing i switched to an LCD screen here and at my job. reduces the flicker and eye strain. my left eye is still perfect though.
its all healed now, but i strained my right thumb playing volleyball when i was in high school. it bent so far back that now i can bend it back a little past 90 degrees. i should take a pic of it...
ive been in what can be considered bad accidents, but luckily i didnt get any serious injuries from them. i get cuts and abrasions and burns and scalds here and there, strains and sprains, but i heal up quickly (so im not really worried with my smarting stubbed toe right now). im grateful for that.
