I've been a lurker of G|A for about 3 years, and I guess it's about time I joined up. This is my first post ever, and I am knocking DF off of the "wait list" because I just realized that I got some invites to give out for GMail. I'll PM him and get him all set up.

Any of you with current GMail accounts, make sure you're getting a decent flow of mail every day and log in/off a lot, and they will give you 3 invites. Hopefully between people who already have them/will get them, they should be able to cover all G|A members who are interested.

I would love to have a GMail account. After signing up for all the t-shirts in 1999/2000 my hotmail and yahoo accounts are definatley full with diploma and house financing offers.

Considering I live in cyberspace one would realize I don't need diplomas or mortgages. And I am quite confident in my size, so all I really need is a bigger mailbox. :)

Cause i rememeber there was a big thing abotu it when they said that even after you delete your emails, they might hold them on their servers forever... I was invited and so far I have already gotten 3, then 3, then 5 invites to give. You have to use the account (both send and receive email)... I also think that once you give invites, if they are accepted, you end up getting more to give.

GRRRRRR.... i finally got past the "loading" page (before, it just kept loading forever!), and logged in... and now none of the links work! Is anyone else having this problem? I can see the Inbox fine, but I can't even read the introductory email, because when I click on any of the links, nothing happens! :(

yeah, i just emailed them... waiting for the response, but wanted to see if anyone else here had found a solution yet.

EDIT: oh! i just found out why! i'm using ad-muncher, a pop-up/ad stopper, and apparently, it doesn't like Gmail very much. Disable and re-fresh, and voila! what a pain...

you guys have invites... make sure to check your bulk folder for gmail invite... for yahoo address and check your spam box for hotmail.

I use two pop up blockers (google toolbar and McAfee IS), and one of them is not allowing the links or messages from coming up. The easy way to get around this is to press the left control key while clicking the link and that temporarily disables the blocker.

you might not have noticed them. after logging in, up at the top it says to invite some friends, in slightly bolded letters, so you may just be missing it, or waiting for something more obvious.
