Well... I know Roy Jones Jr, and I went to middle school with Emmett Smith. :D
Other than that, I met the real "Joe Clark" (i.e. "Lean on Me" story was about him) and I've met Warren G. who shares the exact same identical birthday with me (born on the same day.. but he sure makes a sh@tload more money than I do... :D )

Growing up in a spring training baseball town I've met tons of current and former stars. I ate lunch with Ramon and Pedro Martinez when I was 11. I met Reggie Jackson at a game (he was a jerk.) Met all the Dodger greats. Met Sandy Koufax at a 7-11. I was the assitant to the Dodger's team photographer during spring training when I was a senior in high school and got to meet all the Dodgers that year.
And when John Kennedy Jr. was in town for his flight training I met him because my mom was working at that facility and I happened to be there and he came in. Same thing with Joe Montana. I saw JC Chasez or whatever his name is of N'Sync try to buy drugs from one of my friends (who wasnt a drug dealer but for some reason JC thought he was) at Club Roxy here in Orlando. And one night downtown orlando my friends and I ran into Kevin Garnett at a Subway restuarant, i guess the T-wolves were in town for a game earlier that night. Thats all I can think of now, but I think there were more.

I played blackjack with Ben Affleck and Matt Damon when Oceans 11 was filmed in Vegas at the Hard Rock. They asked me where I was staying and I was staying at NYNY. They both started laughing and said that it gets blown up in the movie. It was later edited out due to 9/11. They were pretty cool and we had lots of pretty ladies swarming around our table.

Ooo, I worked at a movie theater once and got to meet that one big white guy from Bloodsport. I forget his name.
More recently, I happened to meet Shaq at a shooting range in Inglewood a couple years ago because we were assigned to adjacent lanes. And I ran into Kobe at South Coast Plaza one day last summer.
The most fun was this one time that my friend who likes to pretend he's a club promoter got us VIP listed at Baby's, in the Hard Rock, LV. So we got to chill in the VIP room that night and it just happened to be the same night that Ken Shamrock was having his afterparty for the Ken Shamrock vs. Tito Ortiz fight. As it turned out, he got beaten up a bit too badly to make it - but I got to meet a lot of other fighters...I met his brother Frank Shamrock who turned out to be a really nice guy

i've met brian andreas (relativly famous folk artist) and got some signed works.
I've met and gotten autographs from Earl Scruggs, Del McCoury, and Jerry Clower.
When I went to Oak Hill Acadamy I met some dudes the eventually played for Carolina and some who are now pro, but I don't know who because I didn't care then and don't follow basketball now. The only reason I know if b/c a good friend of mine who is a bball freak told me, based on when i went there.

I am not sure if theater counts, but I saw a number of celebrities on Broadway, off-Broadway and so fourth.
I guess the most memorable was "The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui" with Al Pacino, Chazz Palminteri, Billy Crudup, Steve Buscemi, John Goodman and Tony Randall and number of other great actors ... the play was awesome ... acting ... obviously great.
As for celebrities in NYC, I had a friend visiting NYC two years ago from Montreal. Being a big celebrity buff, she was hunting for them through out the city. Nearly everyday she'd spot somebody famous ... I on the other hand had no idea who those people were ... I constantly see groupies in Manhattan running around somebody famous.

My gradudating class had 60 ppl so everyone knew everyone pretty well. Actually now that I think about it I knew Willy Clay who was a safety who played for Detroit and New Orleans in the 90s.

I knew the wife of Thurgood Marshall. I didn't know who she was and just called her Mrs. Marshall until I saw her on TV when her husband died. I can't recall if I ever met Mr. Thurgood Marshall but I've met and talked a bit plenty of times with his wife.
I also have the dubious distinction of shaking the hand of Marion Barry for a photo op I didn't really want to do.

I've met and chatted with quite a number of musicians in my days.
There was a man named Juliano who owns a restaurant in San Francisco devoted to all raw vegetarian food preparation. The name of the restaurant was originally called "RAW," though its since changed names, and may no longer even exist. Anyway, he was a minor celeb for a brief period, came out with a raw "cookbook," got a spot on Good Morning America one day, etc. Anyway, I knew him through a mutual friend, and we've partied and hung out a few times.
I once walked into a bar I've been to regularly a few blocks off the 42nd St. theatre scene. I walked in, stood at the one vacant space, said hi to the bartender I knew there, ordered a drink and chatted her up for a bit (I had the big time hots for her, more on that below). Anyway, after talking for a bit, she let me know that the gentleman I was standing next to the whole time and who had just walked out was Ed Norton Jr. I never even noticed him.
And that girl? She's married to the bassist of a one-hit wonder band who had chart topper somewhere around '97 or '98. We nearly had an affair together (Her marriage started out as one of "convenience," cause she was about to be deported. I think she's since grown more attached to him), but I made the typical dork move of falling in love with the girl instead of just going ahead and getting me some, so of course she backed off. It was really too bad, too. She was a sex fiend and cute as Hell, and it was there for the taking if I wasn't such a hopeless romantic. Yeah, I still regret it, especially since I gave away my feelings and now she even won't return my emails. Bah, women :(. I won't name the band due to the sensitive nature of what happened and all, and the fact that I could very well bump into them again.
Oh, and I saw John Goodman and a couple buddies marching up the sidewalk at a Mardi Gras parade one evening years ago.

my only brush with fame was when Chris Berman (ESPN) walked into the dining hall at Brown. He's an alum and he came back to see us play Princeton or Penn (forgot) for the Ivy title and a pass to the tourney (we lost).
He may not look like it on tv, but he's HUGE. He's like 6'6 or something and big. Man...
oh wait, I remember another one. When I lived in Houston there were rumors that a football player lived two doors down. We doubted the rumor because we didn't live in a rich area (houses in the neighborhood were around 140-150k). But sure enough Houston Oiler safety Bo Orlando lived there. He was a starter, but not a star player. I think he got cut or traded by Houston and then it really didn't matter since the Oilers moved to Tennessee.
Supposedly there were celebrities at brown but I never saw any. Bill Cosby's daughter (or something) graduated from Brown and we gave him a honorary degree and apparently he now shows up at graduation as an alum, but I never saw him.

i never have brushes with fame, even living in NYC (given that i wouldn't recognize most celebs in real life, it's not too surprising). so i was pretty pumped a couple weeks ago when i was down in the west village with some friends at magnolia (a little bakery). me and another girl had already paid and were standing outside, waiting for the rest of our group. suddenly, the girl whispers in my ear "alec baldwin is standing on the street corner!"
sure enough, there was mr. baldwin, with his VERY HOT asian girlfriend/wife. they walked within a foot of me and into the night.
i was just like w00t! i saw a celeb!

I went to school with Jessica Biel, and she lived the next suite over from my ex-girlfriend's. She wound up transferring out I think. I used to see her around campus all the time. My roommate and she were in the same acting class so I occasionally got to talk to her.

Geeez where do I start????
Jerry Rice
Joe Montana
and various other 49ers/Raiders.
Mark McGwire
Chris Mullin
Rod Higgins
Dana Stubblefield
John Madden
Vida Blue
Paul from The Diamond Center (For those of you who know who he is)
Ray Fosse
Probably more but those are the ones I remember. I have yet to see famous people down here in LA. All of the above were really nice. I played basketballw ith Chris Mullin and Rod Higgins and that was a blast. The rest i've seen around town and said hi to them and talked to them for a few. McGwire was creepy because he was at my gym and I never realzied how big he really was.

Grabbed from the last time this thread went around:
Hmmm - lets see:
Charles Barkley - belonged to the same club as we did, he saw me playing basketball and kind of laughed at my style, so he came out on the court and showed me how to shoot for about 20 minutes. Also took a jacuzzi with the man. (there was a jacuzzi in the club which everyone used)
Pete Rose - met him a few times, first couple times he was never willing to sign an autograph, then after his suspension for gambling he finally signed something
Mike Schmidt - met him twice, wouldn't sign anything either
Donald Trump - at a book signing and also just at his hotel
Jim Courier
Pete Sampras
Teddy Pendegrast - went to school with his son
Robert Seguso
Carling Basset- Seguso
Garry Maddux - went to school with his sons, his daughters went to school with my younger brother
Steve Spurrier - Enough said
Fritz Lang - Aggassi's coach
The Spinx brothers (boxing)- met them because friends with their nephew
Atienne Eigner (famous clothing designer, your wife or girlfriend will know who this is) - Friends with her grandson for a while...if memory serves she was at his house one time when I was there.
Met the majority of the Phillies multiple times, multiple years.
Was taught to play better baseball by a Reds player...cant remember his name now. It was a day of one on one instruction.
Bunch of local tv celebs
I know there are more but I cant think of them now.

I went to JR high with Jessica Alba http://www.dancingmonica.com/imagefile/jessicaa_012.jpgI like. She lived in Claremont?
I've had few brushes with fame. I met Steve Urkel when I was in elementary school. I was at my gym and worked out at the bench next to Mark McGwire but then stopped after one set because I felt like a wuss. I've seen various people at restaurants or whatever but nothing major. I think I ran into a Korean celebrity when I was in Korea, but I doubt anyone cares. That's about all I can think of right now.

I went to high school with Slaus.

Hey, Canta's Jeopardy thread reminded me that I got tickets to the Finals of College Jeopardy last year (or was it before? It was when Trebek first shaved his 'stache).
Alex Trebek had a QA session and people were asking him retarded questions. I think the only decent question I heard was if he'd consider having Sean Connery or Will Ferrell on Celebrity Jeopardy. So my friend and I stood up and decided to ask the most retarded question ever, and so we asked, "If you could be an animal, what animal would you be?" He said he'd be an eagle so that he could fly away from there. There were no more questions after that.

Yes...I had it-too much aspirin when I had chicken pox a few months prior..followed by a bout with menigitis...it started with unbelieveable headaches-to the point where i was screaming in pain...my mother took me to the ER and I went into a coma in the Admitting office, in which I was completely out of it for 3 days. The recovery was very long-I had to miss alot of school (which I made up at home.)and aqquired a pretty bad speech problem afterwards..(now fine). There was a 12 year old girl in my area named Missy McGavin who died of Reyes the week before I actually was diagnosed. The entire community held prayer sessions to see if that would help me recover-I believe it did. I can never donate blood-and all my children were tested for learning disabilities because of it...thankfully-there were no carry over side effects to them.

Went to a 38 special concert in ... early 90's and met the singer. He signed a drum stick for me. It was in a small club 'mississippi nights' on The Landing in STL and I had a pretty good spot right in front of the stage and he sung the first verse of 'Fantasy Girl' holding my hand :D

announcer: this is "nightline". reporting live from washington, ted koppel.
ted koppel: with us tonight to talk about this new bestseller are three of the major candidates who were involved in the 1996 republican primary. senator bob dole, pat buchanan, and magazine publisher steve forbes. mr. forbes, let's start with you.
steve forbes: [ giddy ] hi, ted!
ted koppel: mr. forbes, i assume you've read this so-called "fictional" account of the repubican primary?
steve forbes: yes, i have, ted.
ted koppel: then, i assume you're familiar with this passage: [ text appears on screen ] "millionaire teve torbes was a maverick candidate who had washington insiders running scared. he also had an undeniable animal magnetism that drove the ladies crazy. it was clear teve torbes had it goin' on." since this portrays you in such a positive light, mr. forbes, many people have suggested that you are the author of the book.
steve forbes: [ smiling ] well, ted, i'm flattered by your suggestion. but i didn't write the book.
ted koppel: mr. forbes, clearly the character named "teve torbes" represents you.
steve forbes: well, that's one way to interpret it. i mean, the description of the character fits my profile as a verile, charismatic leader of men. but, then again, my name isn't "teve torbes" - it's steve forbes.. which is different! maybe it represents somebody named "leve norbes".
ted koppel: oh, come on! come on! the character obviously is you! just like "at uchanan" is supposed pat buchanan, "dob bole" is bob dole, and lamar alexander is represented by "lamar alexander #2".
steve forbes: well, it seems like the author has done a very good job of disguising those names! ted, there is one passage i find particularly interesting, if i may?
ted koppel: well.. certainly.
steve forbes: it's on page 42. the anonymous author writes on page 42: [ text appears on screen ] "the ladies loved teve torbes' brilliant tax plan. that and the fact that he had a musky victor mature-like scent. no. teve torbes was definitely not a geek with a crooked smile. he was a babe magnet. did i mention how much the ladies love me, i mean him?"
ted koppel: mr. forbes, did you write this book?
steve forbes: no.
ted koppel: senator dole, any comments?
bob dole: steve forbes. steve forbes wrote the book. i recognize his awkaward prose anywhere.
ted koppel: senator, i take you've read the book?
bob dole: ah, bob dole's read the book. let me tell you something - the instruction manual to bob dole's vcr is more exciting, ha ha ha!
ted koppel: senator, you certainly weren't treated very well by the author. on page 142, he writes: "i don't think grenator dole is handling the pressure very well." [ confused ] "grenator"? i don't know why the author felt he had to disguise the word "senator".. anyway, he goes on to say: "today, dob bole leaned over to me, and said, 'if family values means stealing the taxpayers' money and sniffing model glue, i'm way into family values!'"
bob dole: that's a lie! bob dole would never say anything like that! steve forbes, you wrote this book, and you know it!
[ forbes shakes his head no ]
ted koppel: the senator has a point, mr. forbes. i mean, for god's sake, on the dedication page, it says: "to my lovely wife, telen torbes, and my beautiful daughters tatherine, tabina, taberta, taura and telizabeth.
steve forbes: i wonder who those people are?
ted koppel: well, at this point, i'd like to bring gop candidate pat buchanan into the discussion.
pat buchanan: hello, ted. i just hope we can get to the bottom of these malicious lies.
ted koppel: mr. buchanan, the author is obviously referring to you when he says on page 245: "and then, i saw at buchanan kick his nicaraguan gardener and say, 'teve torbes, i enjoy your musky victor mature-like scent.'"
pat buchanan: ted, that was just a lie. mostly.
steve forbes: read on, ted!
ted koppel: alright. on page 167, the author continues: "i was on ched choppel's show 'pightline', when, during a commercial break, ched confessed to me that he often engages in autoerotic asphyxiation." now, that was just unnecessary. and then it goes on to say: "it was on ched's show that at buchanan and teve torbes first agreed that dob bole should drop out. at said, 'teve, what about dob?' then dob motioned for at to come towards teve.." [ text appears on screen ] .."teve torbes, at, dob bole, uchanan, ucotos, ucomos, ucant, teve, at, bole, dat, boba fet, toni kukoc, bee-bo-bo, lamar alexander #2." gentlemen, reactions?
steve forbes: that's wonderful writing!
bob dole: ah, i've just got one thing to say to you, teve torbes - tuck off!
ted koppel: and that's all we have time for. thank you, gentlemen, for joining me. from all of us at abc news, this has been ched toppel in washington, and good night.

I went to high school with Timbaland. He was always making beatbox sounds in the hallway.
Yesterday, while on my way to my parents house, I cut through the neighborhood where one of the guy from Clipse (http://www.vaclipse.com/) used to live. I saw a nice silver porsche parked in front of his parents house. I'm assuming it was him. He was probably at his parents house visiting for fathers day.

We had another thread on this where I detailed quite a few people I have met. You can find my post here. (http://www.gotapex.com/forums/showthread.php?t=39074&page=2&pp=40)
I did get to meet Ronald Reagan when I was working on a project for the Alzheimer's Foundation, but when I met him he was in very bad shape. He had two "handlers" with him at all times in addition to Secret Service agents.
Anyone know who this is? She went to my high school, and this is how I remember her looking:

Timbo is the creator of some of the sickest, catchiest rap beats ever. Nearly every major crossover rap/pop star has used his stuff. Jay Z, Justin Timberlake, Missy Elliot, etc.
