 Boy do I hate my laptop

I've had a custom-built notebook (based on the AOpen 1557GLS) for under three months, and I've already lost two processors in the darn thing (or so it seems). Since I'm trying to make this my primary system, it's tough waiting a week or so to get the unit back. (and yes, I do treat this machine with care -- never dropped or anything crazy like that).

I'm going to the local vendor who sold me the system in the first place, and HOPEFULLY they will do one of two things:

a) Replace the system (mine obviously has a fault other than the CPU, and I'm not going to wait a month while they ship the unit out to AOpen -- under 90 days is crazy to have a major problem like this)

b) Let me trade in the laptop for a better one (naturally I'd pay extra for this).

I seem to have the worst luck when buying new gear -- unless it's refurbished (like my digital camera and printer). Annoys the heck out of me.

Wish me luck that this situation turns into a "Not-so-Suckage" moment.

Well, so far things are looking positive (although the machine actually started working again when I was about to demonstrate the problem). Not only was it the manager of the store who came to help me first, but he was extremely polite and seemed as though he'll do whatever it takes to make the customer satisfied. The store has my laptop for a few days, and if it shows any sign of a problem, they will replace the notebook without further questions (understanding how much of a hassle I've had with this machine since arranging to pick it up in the first place).

Now If only other places offered the same level of customer service that this local computer shop offered.
