all i can ask is: "why?"
for well under $700, i can get a very good 5 megapixel digital camera, with a lot of features, and better PQ, and its still pocket size. and the phone? its really all about the service...
convenience of having 1 gadget instead of 2? if you got the money to burn, go ahead. me, i prefer to have separate gadgets - think of the battery consumption. do you really want to worry about losing charge after taking so many pictures, and not being able to make calls?
Plus, just cuz its 3mp doesnt mean the PQ will be great also. ill wait til better camera phones come out. later...

Costs too much. I rather have a phone and a 5 megapixel camera for the same price.

why? cuz koreans WILL buy it. so far, samsung hasn't said whether or not there will be an international release. but koreans for sure will buy it because they're stupid with these kinds of things. :P sorry, my people can be dumb sometimes. hehehe

I second that our people can be dumb sometimes. I just heard that Samsung is putting on finishing touches on a 5MP camera phone, which Koreans will definitely buy because oftentimes we will sacrifice performance over size. Smaller the size of any portable electronic items, the more fascinated and "gimme gimme!" Koreans become.
Same goes for most of the East Asians. This phone will probably sell very well in the Far East.
I think the cutoff is about 1-2 MP for a camera phone. The reason I'm getting the 1.2MP Motorola v710 (besides bluetooth) is that a 1MP photo is good enough for party pictures. I don't want to take my Pentax Optio S4 to parties anymore because I've already lost one, but to be able to carry one device that does everything adequately would be great :)
But yeah, anything 3MP or up would be overkill IMO.
