Winamp Randomness (or lack of)

This is pissing me off. I know this is a repost technically, but it's been long enough that I figure it deserves a new thread.

Five times in the past hour, I've come across the Verve Pipe-The Freshman. Good deal... Ugh. I think the song is halfway decent, but enough if friggin' enough!

here's what I did to solve that problem. I sorted the playlist with the random option. done and done.

At least it's a good song. We tried to wash our hands of all of this... we never talk of our lacking relationships...

heh. just remembered how my friends roommate hated how his player would play the same thing a lot and how he bitched about it all the time. My friend got mad at his bitching, downloaded something like 60 some odd versions of 'ghost riders in the sky' and put them on repeat.

You could do that with different versions of "Amazing Grace," or better yet, "Yesterday." Oh man, that sounds great. I'm so going to do this. Haha, burn a mini-CD full of different versions of one song, and upload them to random people's computers.

I'm glad i'm not the only one who feels this. Its like hmm if i like that song then its ok the first 5 times, btu after a day of hearing it 45 times.. I feel like i am listening to KIIS FM in los angeles. I have since adopted the random sort and play style to get what i want. But does anyone know why it happens to repeat so much?

It must use a really crappy pseudo random number generator to pick the "random" play order.

Plays all the songs in the playlist exactly once.

But ya, I hated that about Winamp too.
