Most of these cars won't be cost effective for the manufacturers to offer. Our environmental and emissions and street legal requirements are too stringent. You can't even bring one here if not too many people want it, and if you like a car that would meet the requirements the cost involved in bringing it here would destroy your taste for the car. Even though US is the biggest market compared to anywhere else in the world we are cheap and have too many choices.

apex, i know you love this car, and everyone else should check it out too for good measure. car and driver has a great little article out on it in the new issue with the 40k sedan story on the front. it really freakin erks me that we arent going to see this car over here.

The Evo VI rocks, but of course will never be sold in America. http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/frown.gif Has anybody seen the new Silvia? Now that would be a nice car to drive, and apparently, there is some sort of letter writing campaign to get Nissan North America to bring the car over to the US.

They want interested people to send an email to <a href=mailto:[email protected]> [email protected]</a> and tell them if you would buy one, suggestions on what to change and include your name, age, and city. Seems interesting.

The current price of the Silvia in Japan translates to about $23,000 for a 247 horsepower RWD car with 202 lb-ft of torque and a lateral grip of 0.95g's. 0-60 in 5.6 seconds and a 1/4 mile in 13.9. Not too shabby.

I'm going to try to import it, body and engine separately... that way it's considered a "kit car" and bypasses federal regulations. One day, it shall be mine, OH YES, IT SHALL BE MINE. MUHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!
