Good cheap Amp?

Looking for a 4-channel amp around $300. any ideas? kenwood kac-848 any opinions?

ACK! Please don't get a Kenwood amp. The Clarion 4004 is a kickass 50x4 amp that will do more than most other more expensive amps out there. Don't be fooled by things like Kenwood's aluminum plating that they stick on the amps that they make. I see things like "600WATT!!!" on a POS amp and it makes me sick. If possible listen to a couple of amps and see which ones are clear and loud.

The bottom line is that if it sounds good to you then it is the best amp for you.

call crutchfield and ask them what they have available in you price range and power needs.
they almost always have an open box item for the product you decide on, and that cuts down the price pretty well, and the warranty will still be good. i've had sony amps and they were good, but i've also had off name amps like Hella Beat that have worked just as well and were priced much lower, i guess it's just the luck of the draw with electronic stuff usually, you can get a piece of crap or something great from anyone.

DUDE, you want an AWESOME amp?

go for either Zapco or Arcaudio. Zapco, most people have heard of, but Arcaudio was recently featured in CarAudio as part of the CES gig. They're both comparable in sound quality but Arcaudio's probably cheaper.... but you might have to hunt down Arcaudio a little bit. you won't find it at local retailers, etc. good luck.

all i know is that my friend has a rockford fosgate 500.2 into 2 12 inch pioneer premiers and that $hit is loud!!!! I myself have a Pioneer amp and 2 Pioneer 12 inchers but its only like half as loud. Both sound very very clean.
