This is why you should keep copies of them and the receipts so that you can follow up later if you don't get them in a timely fashion.
Generally, there is an 800 number on most rebates of who to call to verify the status of your submission.

I don't keep track of them very well. I'm positive I've missed out on a few though.
I have yet to ever receive them back, and after about 3 - 4 calls of saying that I have mailed them in and giving numbers and ****, still no money.
I don't trust mail in rebates for the life of me now.

You have to follow up on them. I recently was "denied" my rebate on the $50 Epson printer deal. I called them (first reason for keeping copies: having all the phone and web site info), told them I had only submitted a single rebate to Epson, and faxed them the data from my submission (second reason for keeping copies). Interestingly enough, a couple days ago I did an online check of my status, and it showed "approved"; at 5:00pm that day, I get an email from them announcing that my submission had been approved. I have a suspicion that some of the places wait until you check up on the submission to approve it. (Several other times when I have done online checks of submission, the "approval" date is magically the current date.)
With OfficeMax, if I'm not getting anywhere, I go back to the store and talk with the manager. He'll either give me an instant credit (for smaller rebates) or fax the info in directly from the store, which get's things through rather quickly.

I've done 4 or 5 and gotten them all back within a few months. Works for me. :)

Shshsh!
The people who don't follow up on their rebates are the people who make the system work for the rest of us! If everyone followed up, rebates wouldn't be a good sales tool for the manufacturer, and we (OK, I) would lose out!
I get all my rebates. I have had two that have taken over a year each to receive, any many more that were months late, but I get them all.
Well, I haven't received the CyberRebate one yet, but I submitted my class action paperwork, so I will at least get a fraction of that one. I keep close tabs on all my rebates, and that one is still in the "valid, pending" file... :dead:

I am fighting with DELL right now to get my $100 Verizon DSL rebate. Luckily I have kept all of my receipts.

I've probably done more than 250 rebates over the past 10 years. Never been screwed yet. I never give up. I once had a manager at Kodak personally send me a company check for ten bucks just to get me off his back.
Well, I got screwed in the fact that I would charge the item, get the rebate, and only pay the minimum on the credit card...

I've been ripped off once. It was back in the dial-up ages and I saved up some birthday money or something to buy a 33.6k modem that was like $60 with a $40 mail in rebate and that ****er never came. The company (Atlas Peripherals) went out of business...I tried contacting them and their response was "What part of 'Out-of-business' don't you understand?". ****ing *******s.

Beware of Best Buy rebates. They throw those things around like candy to toddlers. If it doesn't take a year to recieve it you have to hassle them so much that it's not even worth it anymore.

This is why I keep a SCAN of the rebate form, the receipt, the UPC label and anything else I had to send them to qualify...
They can't deny it if you have the proof...

I received two t-mobile (handset) rebates today, actually. Only took a little over a month, too. I think I've received most other ones I've sent in. Either that, or I waited so long i forgot I was waiting for one.

But those ****er took $70 from the last Thanksgiving.Nothing personal, but that's only because you gave up. If you had photocopies of everything, and had been a bit more persistant, you would have your $70.
yes. gotten them all back.
