does anyone know how to connect cell phone to stock radio w/optional phone?

Hi everyone...I have a '99 Mercedes C-Class..
and it has a stereo unit that could be fitted with a factory cell phone..and already comes with speakerphone with the keypad on the radio..I was wondering if anyone knows if I could hook up my own cell phone(not have to buy dealer/manufacturer's)
to the unit...is there an adapter that I could possibly buy somewhere?

i have an audiovox digital model..not the popular one..but the new one...it's like gold champagne color..under airtouch service. my car has a connector in the center storage box where you could connect an optional dealer/factory cell phone..the plug is like..you know in the olden days of cell phones..where you need an antenna mounted in the rear window? and they have this coaxial type cable..well..the cable kind of looks like that...except it's supposed to be fiber optic..because the tape deck, stereo, cd changer, phone..are all wired by fiber optic connection...just wondering..I think there should be a product out there somewhere that I could use for an adapter..because the dial pad on the radio for the phone and microphone overhead are cool...I'm just not able to use it.

i think we could try to contact with the cell phone manufacture...i don't think calling bmw or mercedes dealer/headquarters will help any..they'll probably say to buy from factory or dealer..with official bmw or mercedes phone.
