Well I had my Achilles' Tendon put back together yesterday morning and had to spend a night in the hospital. Everything in the surgery went fine and I should have a full recovery. I couldn't keep anything down that day thanks to side effects from the anesthesia (that sucked). They were pumping me full of antibiotics the whole time but I still got a fever. They took care of that and I'm somewhat back to normal.

Now I'm home with this full-leg fiberglass cast that I have to keep elevated. My orthopaed gave me a full bottle of happy pills for the pain, but I haven't had to use them yet. The hardest thing I think I'll have yet is sleeping. I normally sleep on my stomach and this cast definitely won't let me do that. Oh well it's only for a few weeks - just counting down the days!

Take care, Kevster. I understand about the sleeping part. I had a full-leg fiberglass cast for 6 weeks after knee surgery. I'm usually a side sleeper, and the cast made that about impossible. Showers were lots of fun (I would duct tape a large garbage bag over the cast), as was sitting another certain place in the bathroom.

I heal very quickly. I have surprised my doctors in the past. As for this injury, I'm taking it slow on the advice of other people who have had this before.

Thank you for all well wishes. :)
