Word is doing something weird

I type using MS word, however, lately, i keep getting an extra number on my printouts even though i don't type it. it's not on print preview either. so how is the extra number being printed out?

is this the ghost in the machines we've been warned about? :gle:

perhaps my explanation wasn't clear.

what's happening is that i'm typing something up with two columns.
the column on the right is numerated. when i print it, there's an extra "3)" characters on the right column. i never typed "3)" , nor do those two characters show up when i use print preview. how did they get there, and how do i get rid of them?

Never heard of that...? Maybe try office updates and update the printer driver...
