Anyone know where I can find a cheap radar detector? Can anyone give me some tips about them too. I don't know much about them but I drive up and down from S. California to N. California all the time. It might help me from getting am speeding tickets. Thanks to anyone who can help!!

get a Valentine One, also known as a V1. www.valentineone.com (http://www.valentineone.com) Its the best. Don't buy any other cheapo stuff. This is the real thing.

IMHO, radar detectors are 100% bull****...

My g/f and I drive back and forth from Houston to Austin a lot and one time we got a ticket the radar went off just as the cop was in plain view on a straight freeway.

The radar was a $100+ 360 degree model with voice alert blah blah... POS...

Cops these days are smart enough to keep their radar off and just turn it on and clock you if they see you're obviously speeding...

If you really think they work then I suggest you get the kind that will pay for your tickets if they still do that any more because you will definitely get one...

You might be better off just driving however you want and paying for defensive driving every year (can only do it once a year in TX)

I think there's laws though that you can't take DD to dismiss a ticket for speeding 25+ mph over the limit

Valentine Ones are great, but theyre too expensive for college students like me =(
Any other suggestions? I've been pointed to http://www.radar-guys.com
I'm not a big fan of any of those radars. Also, their shipping seems to be quite high despite reasonable prices. Any1 know where I can get an Escort at a good price?
