Okay so I decided to archive all my music CD's in .WAV format. Both as a backup and as an easy way to rip to various formats of MP3 (192k for my MP3 player....320k for my PC)
Storage is not an issue as I have many 20GB drives, a few 40Gb, and a 200Gb (for the Wav files) and a few inbetween.
Albums are being ripped to Wav with EAC and will be converted to MP3 later using LAME
So here's the question other then listening to each song...how can I check to make sure that the rip is good? Sofar I have only had 3 issues out of 76 discs.
Issue 1 - the CRC doesnt match on one track on one album...guessing a bad rip (this was discovered when trying to move the file.
Issue 2 - EAC said there might be an error (I manually checked the section and it was indeed fine)
Issue 3 - Radiohead The Bends is taking forever to rip to WAV, its also one of the oldest CD's
Checking the Wav's is bad enough but then I would have to ensure the MP3s are good as well. any suggestions on how to do this easily?
