I can tell you that I'm no longer a dedicated listener - or even a non-dedicated one! I had an appointment this morning so I turned them on in my car ... I SWEAR they're trying to commit radio show suicide! First there was Jamie talking about the fact that she was sick - yet AGAIN - and that she was high on Wal-Mart cough syrup. Just what we all want to hear. They could fire Danny for going to rehab, but we have to listen to Jamie being sick and on drugs all the time. Joy. Then there's Stench-Stretch-Whoever ... nobody seems to be able to make up their minds about that one. I say they call him "The Artist Formerly Known As Stench" and leave it at that. But the topper was this morning when they were talking about POOP! And they were taking CALLERS who wanted to talk about POOP. They talked about the girl's dog who had eaten the plastic bathroom trash bag, and a guy called to tell about his dog's "milk carton" poop -- and the really SICK lady who told the story about her nephews who were snorkeling with the fish in Hawaii ... too sick for me to elaborate on, sorry. Just trust that the whole thing was totally GROSS. I find it hard to believe that they changed Stench's name to Stretch because of a "marketing poll" that didn't like STENCH, only to spend the morning talking about POOP. As far as I'm concerned, they've gone COMPLETELY down the toilet (pardon the pun).

I think sometimes its a matter of luck and whether their server takes you. Its a lot how you receive the error message when you try to put in the password right after they give it out. I dont know why they havent tried to bump up their server.

When you are trying to get a prize, make sure that you go in early, and also you have to keep refreshing it by hitting "Star Store" over and over again until you see the prize become available. Also, don't waste your time doing the POD first unless you need those 500 points to get your prize. You can always do the POD afterwards, but for the prizes you have to be in first and keep refreshing so that you can get it right away. I have won most of my prizes at 850pm when I am home and not as many people are on because they only try from work, I start checking at 845pm and the prizes always come up before the say the POD at 850pm.. I got in for the Adventure City passes no problem. And have won several big prizes as well.

I agree the servers are sometimes slow but you have to imagine when they post a "time and date" on a prize you have the whole WORLD on there trying to get one prize. So you can imagine the difficulty of trying to win that prize, it's all timing and luck.

It's better when they don't post the time and date. Posting those are as bad as calling in for a caller 20 or whatever, your chances have just diminished 90% or more on getting in.

Not knowing is more exciting and makes you work for it by having to check at different times and days for a prize. The dedication is what makes it interesting. If you expect to get in at an exact time and date you have to realize that there are probably thousands of people with the same plan as you. 15 tickets for over 1,000 people all on at the same time. You can see the difficulty there.. You have a better chance with no time and date and dedication.. Remember nothing is free in life..

I was listening to JACK FM for awhile this evening, and they sounded automated and played a lot of good (old) songs. I liked it. Coincidently, I stumbled upon it totally by accident while trying to find a better station than STAR! What a pity that they seem to be driving themselves straight into the ground!

anyone watch the show last night? I recorded it and am going to watch it when I get home from work.

I watched it. If you're looking for a "typical" reality show, this isn't it. It's actually tragic - very sad. I really felt for the poor guy. There was one scene where he had to go to Vegas to do a stand-up gig with Stench (whose real name, it turns out, is Mike. I never knew.) Danny begged Gretchen to go with him, and she wouldn't. And Stench, who is supposed to be his friend, jumps on that and tries to get Danny out & around a bunch of girls & booze. Of course, that could be all editing and crap. Who knows. But, there were a couple of really intense moments when Danny was in therapy that I just had to wonder whether it was real or if he was acting. But I'll watch it again next week.

Yes, it is very sad. And to think that we were all listening during the time that much of the train wreck was happening, and we really didn't know. I read an article from the New York Times that was all about the show and what went on during filiming (I also watched last night). The article said that during filming Danny went completely off the wagon after confessing his affair to Gretchen (I remember when he told her - it was late last fall). He started drinking heavily again, and then began working out excessively and using steroids. His behavior became so erratic and frightening that the VH-1 counselor, Dr. Garry, told VH-1 he wasn't going to do the show anymore unless Danny got in-patient treatment. VH-1 was also all set to pull the plug on the show after Danny attempted suicide (the article talks about his daughter, Isabella, asking him what's wrong with his bandaged wrists). But Gretchen apparently begged VH-1 to continue filming, as she felt that since Danny loves being on television that it would probably be the best wake-up call for him to see the footage. VH-1 agreed, and they continued the show - on the contingency that Danny do the rehab stint - which he did, then subsequently got fired from STAR. As upset as I am with the decision, I suppose you can't really completely blame STAR under the circumstances -- but then Jamie is no cake walk either, she has her own issues (remember when she took off last year and disappeared for a month?). In the article it said that Danny stated he was being paid $1 million a year to do the show -- if that's true, that's gotta be an an ouch for him! But he and Gretchen are still together, and hopefully he's been working things out for himself. He's such an addictive personality - I don't know if he can ever change permanently. For now, the article says that he's content to be staying around home and going to AA meetings every day. I guess we'll all just have to wait, watch, and see what happens next.

I agree they need to get rid of the OLD songs of No Doubt, but you can never have too much Kelly! She's moved way beyond the American Idol title, and she's still down to earth. One of the nicest people I have ever met, as well as a great talent! :cool:

I never had a time when it said there were too many connections. I guess there was one certificate. Oh well, life goes on, but I have over 100,000 points and my fiance has almost 100,000 - I was hoping to use them on something. I know the concert tickets I got were in a horrible location, so I figured a gift certificate is pretty safe... ;-)
