Best first person shooter...no WAY!!! you gotta try out counter strike, a FREE mod for Half life. It's only playable on the internet, but it's so addictive. There's a lot of blood, and sometimes you can see body parts fly if you shoot someone with the right gun.

soldier of fortune is the best first person shooter out there today. the gore is simply entertaining to say the least. yeah, unreal tournament has some gore here and there, but how often do you see limbs flying left and right??? hehe. http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/cool.gif

i've played counter strike, and i admit that it is fun and addicting. but the realism in soldier of fortune just gets to me (getting teary eyed)

I dont play Half-life, was never too interested in it. I only played it once via single player, and got bored soon. However, when I played the demo of Soldier of Fortune, it rocked me away. Anyway, despite the bad reviews on this game and on Star Trek Armada, I enjoy playing Star Trek armada. Anyone play Messiah or Daikatana yet? I read the reviews on them both, and it was ugly...

yes, i have played messiah. the concept is totally frickin' cool!! you're a little angel dude sent down to save humanity and you run around possessing people. because the world is so corrupt, when you are not inside some else's body, everyone tries to kill you because they are happy with their own corruption and despise "bob" for trying to change things. pretty cool i think.

SoF kicks ass, I played the downloaded version and bought it the next day. I’m embarrassed to say SoF was the first game I have ever bought, besides all the reader rabbit games for the kids. I’m a neophite when it comes to gaming and have only played rainbow 6 before this. All I can say is if you like blowing skin heads away this game is for you. Has anyone got the RazorBoom mouse that they advertise in the box. My mouse is sucks.

SOF is fun, but not the best. In my opinion, the best is UT.

As for Messiah, it's a unique game for sure, but it has it's share of problems. One being that the game is freaking hard unless you know what you're doing. Also, those characters in the game don't really have an appreciation for 1 year olds walking around...must be those wings...

As for Daikatana, read the latest PC Gamer for an article concerning hypes and Daikatana. One important point being the fact that people (including me) judged Daikatana on a simple demo and we assumed it sucked before playing it through. All I'm saying is give it a try, play it for a while, then you can make an honest opinion (which I can't).
