Quake 4 - its comin'

Screenshots and whatnot are in the current issue of PC Gamer, though I cant find info anywhere else on the web, so you're gonna have to take my word for it.

Raven is making it, using the Doom3 engine, and instead of a scare-fest like Doom3, its going to be an all out run-n-gun mayhem. focus is going to be on single-player, its a direct sequel to Quake2, and you will constantly have marine buddies (controlled by AI) that back you up.

All this probably means that if your PC was stut-stut-stuttering when playing Doom3, you're really gonna need an upgrade for Quake4.

Depends at what res and pic quality. I just swapped out 512 3200 for a gig (dc) cuz doom didn't run as well as I liked on my athlon 3200/9800 np.

Never ask these questions. If there is one thing that Far Cry and Doom3 taught us it is the answer is always

"Yes, except with x and x turned on, or above x resolution."

Still, the 9600 is showing it's age.

Maybe in Q4... they'll add the ability to JUMP without having to use a jump pad or the rocket launcher. :shrug:

Me too. Both online and single player of Quake 2 were great fun. Quake 3 = rocket tag.

As long as the marine buddies have better intelligence than the ones in Daikatana (last game I can remember that used allies like that to help you through a single-player game).

The original Call of Duty was great, the expansion was so-so. The first one was developed by Infinity Ward the expansion was done by the Return to Castle Wolfenstein people because Infinity Ward is working on Call of Duty 2. I noticed a big difference. Call of Duty never got frustrating to me, not once. The expansion I can think of at least 3 places where I had to reload and try again over 25 times. Thats when a game stops being challenging and starts being annoying.
