I felt that one especially since I was shelving books at the library. Being in between two rocking book shelves is not exactly the best place to be during an earthquake. :)

EDIT: From the USGS Earthquake page, it was upgraded from a 5.9 Magnitude earthquake to a 6.0 event:

It was followed a few minutes later by a 5.0 aftershock.

Here's a link to the whole list of quakes for California and Nevada:

but that does bring up an interesting question for all you frequently earthquaked Californians. have you ever been getting some nookie and had a geological experience at the same time?

but that does bring up an interesting question for all you frequently earthquaked Californians. have you ever been getting some nookie and had a geological experience at the same time? Being nearly completely inexperienced in one and well versed in experiencing the other, no. I'll leave it to you to figure out which earth-moving experience I've had. :P

The force of this earthquake did not radiate well in the direction of Southern California. The quake's energy was mainly directed north-easterly in the Central California area and into the Bay Area and Sacramento. I remember feeling the Cambra earthquake quite well in my company's building in El Segundo. That one shook the lights, made the building roll a bit. The Parkfield quake wasn't that far from the Cambria quake and it's many significant aftershocks (they had another 5.0 today) but their energy is not radiating enough in a southerly direction to be felt with any significance in the Los Angeles area.
