The most addictive game I've ever played is an online RPG text-only game called Gemstone III. Back in high school, I used to play for hours. It was so much fun. I met some cool people and later became friends in real life. Thinking about it, perhaps I should go back. I'm bored with Diablo II already.

I played a game that sounds similar to that when I was in high school. It was called Ishar. By far the most addicting game I've ever played in my life. It too was all text based...the only thing you needed to play was a telnet program. Luckily, after a year and a half, I finally managed to kick the "habit"...but I still remember waking up 2 hours before school to try to get a headstart on everyone else or snag that eq that everyone was looking for at the time.

playing Lode Runner on the Apple 2G. It was so addictive cuz I wonder what was at the end, I finish passed out when I got to level 47...one night... =P

then there were MUDs.. I was on one called DragonFire, that was my all time fav..

Nowadays, it's The Sims (now that I have my Livin' Large expansion pack) and Diablo II (finishing Nightmare mode..)

Ah, how I miss those lifeless time. I used to play hours of Gemstone III just to level up. Woke up 3 in the morning so the (internet) traffic was smooth and less lags. "prepare 702, cast at rat, skin rat, search rat" My old routine.

BRE (Barren Realms Elite).. man.. many years wasted.. oh.. but how can I forget Trade Wars.. But I still maintain that CounterStrike is the best, and any Sierra Game kept me going.. (Leisure Suit Larry, Space Quest, Kings Quest, Quest for Glory) If anyone knows where I can get the originals of these games, please lemme know.. I would love to play all of these again..
