I did a search to see if this was a repost, but I entered 5 terms and didn't find it. So, without further ado...
Faith the Dog! (http://www.faiththedog.net/story.asp)
For those too lazy to click the link, it's a dog that walks around on it's hind legs because it has no front legs. That led to this IM exchange between me and a friend:
Me: No freakin way. Fake?
Him: nah, saw it on tv
Me: So wait...how does it lay down?
Him: just falls i guess
Him: thats the first thing you think of?
Me: Ok, so if it falls, but then doesn't have front legs...you know what I'm about to do right?
Him: try to get yourself up without using your arms?
Me: :) brb

I just did it, not easy. I should've tried it when my knee wasn't banged up from playing volleyball. Stupid me.

Me: brb:lmfao: hahahahaha that was great. i was already cracking up from your friend pointing out your cynicism ("that's the first thing you think of?"), but you felt the need to try getting up without using your arms? classic.

where there's a will there's a way, but that dog does look freaky.

Yeah, I made it too. It was just awkward. Possible, but weird.

It kinda helps that a dog's hind legs are double jointed at the kneecap and on the the lower leg versus a human's hind legs being single jointed at the kneecap....
When a dog sits up... the pivot angle of the lower leg is opposite to that as a human. Their extra joint points backwards and allows for that rear balance, therefore it probably would be much easier for a dog to get up from the floor and stand on it's hind legs without the use of their front legs.

:munch:Some dogs taste good. :P But I doubt Faith would.

Still wondering how Faith goes about doing her duty.
See? Like a said, a million freakin questions. I thought of that one too. Also, how does Faith drag her ass across the carpet? Does she sit down to eat, or flop somewhere with a bowl underneath her mouth?
If I weren't so weird, I could probably just let these questions slide...

That thing looks like a freakin kangaroo... I saw something simmilar where the owner rigged wheels on the front of the dog to hold it up...

That would be awesome! You could hook up some off-roading wheels to the dog, and have it go everywhere with you.
If I had a dog that walked on its hind legs, I'd teach it Riverdance.
And with that, I'm off to board the short bus to hell, where I've surely been condemned for saying I'd teach a crippled dog Riverdance.
