View Full Version : Automatic posting of my IP (from my home ISP) on my website?

Can anyone think of a way that I can run something on my PC that will automatically post my IP on my website?

I want to know what my IP addy is (since it's DHCP) at any given time (DVArchive ;) ) so that I can access my PC at any given time.

Granted, the IP usually stays the same, but I'd like to not be left hanging when I really need to get in.

So... in my mind, I'm thinking something like on www.mywebsite.com/ipaddy would appear my home IP address... posted every 6 hours or so.

www.no-ip.com is awsome. Install their program on your comp, and when you type in "yourusernamehere".no-ip.info (w/o quotes ofcourse) it will automatically go to your current IP at the house, from there you can figure it out.

I have not had to use it yet, but this service could work out for you too. Similar to the no-ip.com thing... Dynamic DNS Service (http://www.dyndns.org/services/dyndns/)
