its been awhile since i last posted, but it feels good to be back

anyways for the summer i thought it would be a nice idea to buy me a motorcycle. i dont know what got into me but i just went out and bought one. used of course. i bought a 1997 gsxr 600. never rode a bike before but i got on the first day i bought it and rode it around for awhile. got the hang of it real quick. anyways fast forward 2 months. i was riding the bike home from work and some 20yr old girl decides to make a u-turn right in front of me. so im riding down the block going 40mph and her car pulls 10ft in front of me. i slam on the brakes and lock them up. everything was horrible after that. it took me a month to get back home from work that day. after surgery and rehab i was able to get back home. now after all the medical stuff i have the insurance claim to take care of. seems she only had a 25grand policy. its not gonna be able to cover the medical bill, along with the time i lost at work and all the other stuff that was wrecked. so before i hire a lawyer or something i just thought someone on this board would give me some prelim advice. thnx

ps. i broke my femur and they had to put a iron rod in it. riding in nyc is real hazardous. but i love riding so i went and bought another bike..2001 gsxr 600.

Usually your insurance company pays for the rest (if you have comprehensive coverage) and then it could go after the girl. If your insurance company doesn't pay, then hire the lawyer and go after her.

BTW it's good to hear that you are okay and welcome back. :wavey:
