My Audio Control Overdrive Line driver that is...
I swear, I'm getting the feeling that someone has put a HEX on me as far as getting this car audio line driver for my system.
As some of you may remember, I had problems through Ebay getting this unit: http://www.gotapex.com/forums/showthread.php?t=79035 however now I am having problems just buying it retail.
This started with me initaially ordering the item from the company www.carmedia1.com... they had it for a decent price with decent shipping. So I placed the order on Sep 28th for the unit. On Sep 29th, they sent me an e-mail that this item was no longer in stock and that they anticipated getting more of them in later... so rather than wait, I checked with another company www.acaraudio.com to see if they could fulfill my request (and they said that they had it in stock).
So I cancelled the other with Carmedia1 and placed it with ACarAudio... and all was good. I had anticipated that it would take a week to ship the item.
A week later... no item arrived, and they didn't send me any kind of "e-mail tracking" for the purchase. Now at that point I wanted to call them, however they only do "order status" and customer support via e-mail (RED FLAGS GOING UP NOW!!!). I got in contact with "Mark" who told me that he would look into the matter.
Well a few days pass... and I don't hear from them, so I write "Mark" again. So he tells me that he apologizes and that the item I had ordered was now on BACKORDER... At this point, I'm like... WTF!!! Before I initially ordered, they told me that it was in stock. Their "online account information" only said that they had received the order and they did in fact charge my credit card for the amount of the transaction. Now at this point I'm fuming again...
What do you mean "on Backorder"? You told me it was "In Stock" when I ordered... why didn't you tell me it was on BackOrder BEFORE you posted it to my Credit card!!! So I then ask him, "Ok then... well how long will it be until you get it back in and what are you going to do for me for my inconvenience?"
Well they responded back that they were sorry and such and that they would give me free expedited shipping when it did arrive (yeah.. small consolation), then I shot back another e-mail asking "Well, how long do you think it will be before it comes in? a few days... or more than a week?" and they never responded to this e-mail. 2 1/2 hours passed and no response...
So I called the original company that I was gonna order with, and found out that they got their shipment of these items in the NEXT FRIGGIN DAY after I cancelled the original order (Well DAYUUUM!!!!)
So now it is Friday, and I call them. They have the units in and they have verified this, but it is too late for them to ship out today and it will have to wait until Monday to ship (which is OK by me at this point since that means that I can have it by next weekend).
Now I'm just upset with ACarAudio.com... as they totally WASTED my time and took my money on a lie (I have the e-mail where they stated that it was "IN STOCK"... and not on backorder). So now I have sent them my cancellation of the order and I have to wait for my credit card to process the dispute transaction.
What a friggin mess... :2far: I guess "customer service" just wasn't a high point for them huh? I can understand that maybe their system was a little behind in the inventory, but when they blatantly ignore customer requests and inquries and their "phone people" tell you "I can only take orders over the phone... all service questions must be sent through e-mail" then that throws up all kinds of red flags that these are not companies that you should do business with.
