We went ahead and got DirectTv when we moved into our new place in July. As part of the deal, it was $29.99/mo (6mos) + $5/DVR + $5/Room + $12/mo for HBO. When we signed up they included Starz for free for the first 3 months. Of course, I was wary because half the time we this "free" deals it ends up being your responsiblity to get rid of it otherwise you are suddenly paying for it. However, the representative told me that I didnt have to do anything, at the end of the free period, it would automatically be removed although it would prompt us to contact them if we wanted to keep it.
Fast forward to today, I open the bill and its $20 higher than its supposed to be. I look at the bill and it looks all the same so I end up calling them. Sure enough, not only did they fail to remove the Starz at the end of the period (and say I had to do it, exactly the opposite of what the representative told me when we signed up) but there was an additional $10 that apparently was from them not crediting our account correctly.
20 minute phone call, but its fixed. I just hate these little annoyances.
