He was only 41 years old. Confessed to using steroids in his MVP season with the San Diego Padres- claiming half of baseball was using them. Has had trouble with cocaine in the past. Autopsy scheduled to determine cause of death. Such a talent and so young.

 Cammy was quite possibly my favorite Padre of all time (other than Tony Gwynn of course). It was really sad seeing him go from being on top of the world in 98 to the gutter so quickly.

I will miss you Cammy. Put in a good word to the Big Guy for the Padres next year.

There were a bunch of great guys on that NL Champ team- Caminiti, Steve Finley, Tony Gwynn, Trevor Hoffman, Andy Ashby. We knew Kevin Brown was a rental, but it was amazing to watch him pitch. I just don't get the same vibe from the present line-up. You knew Cami was hurting, but he would not come out of the line-up. He just wanted to play and do the best he possibly could. He was a very important part of the chemistry of that team.
