i had impressions taken of my teeth and from that a stone model is poured up. from that model custom bleaching trays are made. i then got some Opalescence Teeth Bleaching Gel, 8 syringes of 15% carbamide peroxide, and did the bleaching at home.
guaranteed results - costs about $300 bucks in our office.

I did the same thing as Nickel. It was my treat to myself when I quit smoking. I have never regretted it and just do touchups a couple of times a year. They are not blindingly bright like some actor's, but they look good.

Never done it because the insurance company won't cover it. My wife complains about my teeth all the time though.

I did the professional strength Crest White strips. I thin they worked relatively well. I've gotten a couple of compliments recently and I did it about 1.5 years ago.

:stupid: Professional Strength Crest Whitestrips about the same time as Leebo. Still getting complimented.
I think I should do it again. I want my teeth to be radioactive-white.

crest whitestrips have been good to me, can't beat $30 a year for gentle lightening...

I got the mold, bleaching trays, then the syringes for free (thanks sis!), and it's been INCREDIBLE at whitening. I have several friends who bought $35 kits at the grocery store, and unfortunately, they appear to be wasted money :(

I got mine about 2 years ago and I have used about 1/2 of the syringes. I only paid ~$200. Actually, I think it was under $200. It was a great deal and it worked well. The only problem I had was after 2 treatments my teeth would get extremly sensitive, to the point that they would ache. So I had to do a treatment then wait a few days before doing another one. Me----> :D

what percentage carbamide peroxide was there in the bleaching gel? the higher the percentage the more likely you'll be sensitive. a lot of people, me included, can't tolerate anything higher than 15%.
and those syringes you still have are most likely outdated :(
but you have the trays still so hooking up with some more gel is easy.
oh, and i am lucky enough to know you don't have a green face, and do have a nice smile. ;)

The Opalescence Teeth Bleaching Gel comes in 10%, 15% and 20%.
but there are other brands and strengths within that realm.

are those the hella expensive ones - hahaha, yeah, do it again, maybe your teeth will be so sparkly that they'll be your own "natural" *bling* *bling* - or you'll end up like Ross from friends whose teeth end up glowing :gle:

saves time in the chair for the dentist, and they still make some cashola off it.
hopefully the layperson can take their own impression.

let me know how you do with making the trays escapefromalcatraz.
we wanted to try and distribute these to patients, too, and experimented on each other with the trays. you are supposed to get them real warm in water, but if you get them too warm they melt. we had a hard time getting them to mold to the person's teeth, and if they don't the gel is gonna leak onto the gums and that will burn them.

these are like the ones you use in football... they don't have to stay in the hot water too long. But the key is once you get it on your teeth create a suction/vacuum to suck all the water/air out and the plastic should mold to your teeth quite well. Cut off excess on height or it'll rub your gums bad.
