I got this Di-624, I am getting disconnected evey 5 mins... Cant play games, cant surf the internet smoothly.. Even while typing this, I am getting disconnected... I talked to Di-link for hours and hours and none of the meathods they give me seem to fix it. I sent several email and the last email was, we couldnt fix it, please contact 1800 d-link number. After talking to D-link, they told me to send the product back ( paid $10 out of my pocket) and they sent me a new one and the new one also disconnectes every ****ing 5 mins... I researched and found everyone has got this same problem (Just do a google search on Di-624 disconnection) ... I got DSL and use PPPOE for DSL and it disconnects the internet then disconnnects my ethernet connection.. I am not even using a wireless connection, its a really wired (so they cant say interferance problem)and the wireless mode is also disabled. This is a total rip off. Paid $80 for the router a 3 weeks ago and another $10 for shipping this **** back to them...I researched a lot and found that everyone seems to have the same problem. Cable users do not have the problem. The router got some bugs in PPPOE connection.. its so instable with that. Is there a way, I can sue D-link?? There should be something done.... These bastards have ripped me!! I cant even return the D-link product now...Please help me :neartears

We have D-link.
and PPPOE connection.
We don't have this issue.
I don't know the model off hand, but I want to think that we had that issue before, but I thought it was with our linksys router... Will converse with Donnie and get back with you...

All I can say is... I guess you've never seen ANY of the warnings I've put out here on the board about staying far far away from D-Link...

I've been there, and done that...

Maybe folks will one day heed this advice... Unfortunately, since D-Link likes to sell it's products cheaper than most of it's competitors, they will continue to sell their products to folks who see the $$$ value before they see the quality of the product.

I can't say enough how much I abhor D-Link... :2far:

I bought a D-614+ (I think) about a year ago for my parents to set up a wireless network in their home. When I first set it up, the router worked flawlessly for two of the three computers in the house that were set up. I figured there was some interference being caused by the room that it was set up in and moved it. This time all 3 computers that were linked worked, although the one that originally had the hard wired connection would fade in and out. When I moved out the one computer they asked me to move the router back downstairs (it was upstairs)...to their surprise now only 1 computer functioned vs. the 3. Which they are now quite upset about but I dont feel like moving everything yet again.

Overall the router, after first getting a defective one has worked but from what everyone tells me, we were lucky with it.

Where did you buy it from and what did you buy it with?

If you used a Credit Card that had "buyer protection", then maybe they will refund you the money since IT IS defective merchandise... Usually, they extend the warranty out an extra year just for good measure.

Maybe this might solve your problem... give your credit card company a call. :thumb:
