Mp3 Editing Software

I was wondering if anyone here knew of a good mp3 editing software. Something that can overlap songs and whatnot (not just morph the music). Free is probably the best option but any idea is appreciated. TIA

don't edit as MP3-convert them to PCM waves. Best proggie I've used it CoolEdit Pro (pretty cheap, since it's old). Soundforge is popular too, but I've not used it.
